| The Ghosts by © moon_grace Once, I spent a holiday with Dave, meeting his mother who lived in New Orleans. There was talk of a house there that belonged to a couple of friends. It has since been sold and has been turned into a hotel. I am wondering if it is still haunted. (The new owners don't list "haunted" on their web site. hmmmmmm) Anyway, this is what I can remember of the ghosts there..... There was a painting of a young girl in one room. She seemed not content to remain in the painting. They could see her walking around sometimes. They thought she was a poorer relation of the previous owners and had died of yellow fever. One of the new owners was in the kitchen one day when she walked in. He didn't mind her walking in, but it unnerved him that she reached up to touch his face. He was not the only one to see her. The maid, one day asked them, "Do you have women here? Who was the girl on the steps today?" She then told them she couldn't keep working there if that woman was going to keep walking around while they were gone. The two men were at their shop at the time this occured and had not had any female visitors. She was also seen one Thanksgiving. The couple had some friends over for a large dinner and the friends brought their young daughter with them. They were all sitting in the dining room eating when the door opened and the young girl walked through. They all saw her that time. The young daughter of the visiting couple said she liked the young girl, but she didn't like the man. Hmmmm. They had not seen a male ghost there. Also, after they moved in, they had a hard time getting their german shepherd dog to come into the home. They finally got him to come in and later, he jumped from the balcony. He survivied, but after that, he would not go back into the house. They had a large piece of furniture in one room, a side board. It was up against the wall and when they moved it there was a stain on the wall. They were tearing out the wall and found a skeleton of a baby behind the stain. They tried painting, but the stain came back (this is what they said) so they moved the side board back against the wall. I don't know if any of it was true. I know my mother-in-law told us that Tulane Universitie's Paranormal Dept had come out and authenticated the home as haunted. Makes you wander just what went on there. Hmmmmmmmm. Take care out there... Halloween Moon. |
