This is something that happened to me a few months ago..but I have
something else in mind-just need to get it down..

------------
The sun was a bloom of sweet tangerine; lighting the last whispers of
the day with heat song.
The slight gasp of wind played around my ears
and told me Winter was coming-but not just yet. The chittery sparrow
jumped and squeaked throughout the Laurel tree drooping with cinnamon
smelling flowers. I finally looked up at him and calmly asked: "Well,
what?" Nothing, he just wanted me to notice how brave and beautiful a
sparrow he was. Then he flew away appeased.

I went to throw away the old cardboard box that was so sun dried it
fell apart like dried leaves. There was a Black Widow that had made a
cozy web in the box. She was beautiful, and I told her so. I
carefully picked her up with a piece of wood to let her go somewhere
else she would not be disturbed. As I walked to the Laurel tree, she
walked all over the wood. I stopped to watch her move. She shined
like a new car that had just been lovingly washed and waxed. She
moved her legs like a ballet dancer. Reaching the edge of the wood,
she stopped and put up one leg-feeling for purchase. She just held it
there. So I put my finger up to her leg and gently ran it down the
tip. She picked up her leg and gently put it on top of my finger.

I felt like I'd just been hugged by my Grandmother.
