Masala with Nuts

        • Chopped unsalted cashew nuts (or) blanched almonds- 4 tablespoons
        • Ginger- 1 inch piece
        • Crushed garlic- 2 flakes
        • Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
        • Poppy seeds- 1 tsp
        • Whole black peppers- 1 tsp
        • Cardamom seeds- 1 tsp
        • Oil- 2 tablespoons

        Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan and add the spices and fry for 5 minutes over medium heat until golden brown. Add garlic and ginger and fry for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and allow it to cool . Put this in a blender & add cashew nuts or almonds with 1/4 cup of hot water and grind into a smooth paste. Store it in an airtight container and refrigerate.
