Dij's journal of Ireland

25 June 2002

4:00 pm
Went digging. Got dirty. Must take shower. Library is open, think I'll go see if I can get online at some point. We were digging from 9am-3:30pm with a break for lunch. We found a few artifacts like ceramic pieces (redware, whiteware) and a piece of a pipe stem. The sun actually decided to show it's face today What joy!

5:34pm
AFter dinner a group of us stopped by a gift shop at the Famine Museum (where we eat dinner) and I picked up a deck of Guiness Cards. We got a good laugh out of them

9:53pm
Went to a lecture on music and its role during the 19th C. Quite fascinating. The man explained the importance of music in both Ireland and its spread to other countries such as the US, Canada, and Australia. He and two other men also gave us a small concert, which was quite lovely. But now I'm quite exhausted and could go to sleep now if I wanted to. Bu tI think of some us are going out to teh pubs later. Ack! Must find something to keep me awake! Grrr, stopuc town without any Red Bull.
later found Red Bull...hoorah!

All thanks goes to the wonderful loons at bb.net, Stewart and, of course, Billy. Without any of them, this trip wouldn't have been possible.
