Personalities

Most student complain that they don't have enough vocabulary. - They are correct!! - Most teachers complain that most students don't have enough vocabulary to truthfully be in the higher level classes!!!!

Vocabulary List 1:

These are adjectives that can be used to describe people's personalities. They can also be use to describe other things as well. See how many you know. Test yourself. Many can describe both permanent and temporary conditions.

To study these words and remember them, make a couple of sentences. One sentence using the word, another sentence not using the word, but showing the meaning. For example: "My grandmother is very forgetful. She can't remember anything."

Use an English to English dictionary first! Next an English thesaurus!

Otherwise you are wasting your time, and your teachers' time. Ultimately you are wasting your money if you don't use an English to English dictionary and thesaurus.

Study 10 words at a time making 4 sentences each. Then, try using them in class. You will be surprised how fast your vocabulary will grow. If you have any questions, ask your teacher for help.

Next, get an English newspaper and scan a few articles for the words you have learned. Do not worry about reading the entire article. Just look for the words only. Then, see how they are used. Read the sentence before and after. This will give you an idea of how and when to use the words you have just learned.
