Joseph Kostecheck was born in Bohemia ca. 1860.  He married Francis Chaloupka in Anamosa, Jones County, IA 7 November 1881.  Francis was born in Jackson County, Iowa ca. 1860, the daughter of John and Catherine Chaloupka.  By 1885, the couple had settled in Wyoming township, Jones County, Iowa, section 36.
