Obituary

Catherine Pierko was born in Bohemia, May 1st, 1817.  February 2d, 1834, she was married to John Chaloupka, and in 1855 emigrated to this country, settling in Jackson county July 15th, 1855, where they resided for 25 years, when they removed to Jones county, and made their home with their youngest son, Geo. W. Chaloupka, a mile and one-half southwest of this place, where she died May 30th, 1895.  She was the mother of eight sons and three daughters.  Two of the sons died in infancy.  The balance of the children survive her and also her aged husband, to mourn the loss of a faithful and affectionate mother and wife.  She was a great sufferer.  For about 17 months she had been unable to lie down.  She had been a member of the Catholic church for about 60 years.

The undersigned would return thanks to the many neighbors for their kind services during the last sickness of Mrs. Chaloupka.
