The Power Steering Rack

Quite the most awfull thing to find under a SE6 with power steering is a little puddle of fluid from the rack - A quick tussle with thoughts of half a gallon of unleaded plus lots of advice from the Newsgroups and other sources later and there was just the work to do. The rack was such a swine to unhook but it eventually came loose - main problems being the track rod ball joints and the fear of losing the threaded bits of the unions into the pinion housing leaving the nut bit in the spanner, but it all came out eventually. As for the pinion clamp bolt, that needed the rack slid foreward to allow access past the chassis member, it remains to be seen if I can get that back in.

Here it is, out of it's lair. A little difficult to tell where the leak is but it must be either from the pinion seal or the pinion housing both of which are not visible when the rack is fitted.
