| The Debutante Cotillion is our most highly recognized and anticipated events. We offer the opportunity to the young women of the Fairfield and New Haven County Areas to participate in an event that is fun, educational and allows these young women the opportunity to shine for their accomplishments. The Bridgeport section members put heart and soul into this event. We want the girls to feel as special as they look on the day the event is held. The beginning part of the process for all Cotillion participants is the application process. As applications are received and reviewed, the girls are interviewed and cuts, and final decisions are made. Once all participants have been notified. The "hard" but satisfying work or creating debutantes and her court begins. For a period of time, the participants; debs, sub-debs, rosebuds, and squires, attend practice, workshops, and perform community service to better acquaint themselves with the missions and goals of the National Council of Negro Women. Cotillion Day is here before we know it and the hustle and bustle of the day seems almost unbearable but as the participants perform, we as a section are reminded why this event is so close to our hearts.
