Sheeting your character by WoD System and rules
Sheeting
your character, so we hold stats and we are able to give you experience
points according to your play, is a must! If you never have made a sheet,
ask one of the @ to help you. The Resource webpage will be up soon. Dice for
now are not a must but are also offered for play. WoD characters only!
2.
Flooding
Accidental flooding, which does happen, is subject to a warning.
Upon continuance, a kicking. Purposefully flooding the chat for any reason,
regardless of intent, will result in your immediate banning from the site
and all assorted utilities.
3. Character intro's are limited to
3 paragraphs of
description.
Not a line more. Not only do long intros interrupt
RP for others, they can be construed by IRC as flooding. So it benefits both
yourself AND others by limiting. If you just can't fit everything in, put a
((msg for full descript)) at the end of your second post so other players
can ask for it privately. There will be further warnings.
4. No ooc
fighting. It's NOT tolerated, period.
You have a problem
with someone, you take it to private msg or into an OOC channel. If you
are told to stop arguing in channel and do not, you will be
kicked.
Continue, you will
be banned for 24
hours.
5. Ops must obey the rules just as much as the
players.
If you
believe an op has stepped over the line or made a bad judgment call,
respectfully tell them so IN MSG. If nothing is done on the matter after
that, get in touch with the Channel Owner and Founder Sizzilia or RedXII.
The rules have been given the proper procedures in which to
enforce them. All are instructed to follow them exactly as stated. If you
are Kicked or banned, you will be given a reason. So take that to heart and
do not return to the room to debate or discuss the matter with the Ops in
public. Take it privately or join the OOC channel and discuss it in a civil
manner with the OP that removed you from the room. If, for any reason, you
feel the was unjust, send an email to the site owner and resolve the issue
there.
Channel
helpers (those with the + ) have the same authority as the Ops. They are also ops that have gone
down to the voice list so that there won't be too many ops up top. Anyone
ignoring them or arguing with their rulings will be subject to the same
punishment as if you were acting that way towards an op.
Disrespect to an
Op just as with fellow role-players, will not be tolerated in public or private chat. The rules of
harassment, language, and OOC Chat apply under this provision as well. Any
Op acting out of accordance with these regulations will receive two verbal
reprimands from the site owner, a Third Offense will result in a suspension,
and a Fourth will end in a dismissal of the offending . OP .
6. No
harassing.
Harassment: OOC
harassment is not tolerated. IC Harassment better involves a good reason for
the character to do so and not, hey, I dont like her/him in ooc so I make
that persons life harder ic. If there is a problem it is advisable to
utilize the "ignore" feature unless it involves an OP and it is about rules etc, but if such methods do not work, you are
encouraged to approach any OP's. The offending party will then be given one
warning from the Op, but after that that person is subject to banning. OOC
threats of death, violence, or computer hacking against anyone attending
this site will result in the permanent removal of offending parties from
this site. It's immature and unwelcome here. It doesn't matter if you do it
in channel or in msg. If that person complains to an op about it WITH log,
you will receive only one warning. If you don't stop
AT ONCE,
you will be kicked. If you return and persist, you
will be banned for 24
hours.
7. OOC yelling
is frowned upon.
If you don't
know what it is, don't worry, you'll have two warnings for it. If you don't
get it by then, you will be kicked.
8. Swearing
Please keep
it at a tolerable level, words like "Cunt", is just awful. Keep a handle
on it people, you're smarter than that.
9. Real Life Information
Everyone is
encouraged not to share their personal and private information with any
parties. There is Zero Tolerance for any individual that gives out the real
name or information of any other Person. If a Player should choose to give
out his/her own information, that is their business, but it does not give you the right to take
such liberties with their information. If anyone is caught doing this it will result in an immediate and
permanent Ban.
10. This is not a standalone channel.
If you are taking
a fight, argument, or some form of encounter to a side channel, mention the
channel's name in brackets ((#AbN_?)) if there are those in the channel who
need to know where your character's going. As always, if there is a battle,
a log MUST be submitted to an op upon completion.
If you blatantly call out
another channel name for your promotion, you will be kicked. At
once.
11. NO Crossovers to None Linked
channels.
Channel crossovers
in any way, shape, or form are not permitted UNLESS
the channel is linked to Alexandria by Night. If there is a crossover reported, any
offenders involved will be automatically banned until they have terminated
their crossover.

12. Writing in OOC chat (out of character)
OOC Chat in General:
keep the OOC chatter to a
minimum in Alexandria by Night and other connected channels so as to not
distract or disturb the role-playing mood for an extended period of time.
Occasional OOC questions are welcome, but for elongated discussions it is
recommended that you Join the
OOC channel
or create a Channel for your discussion by typing /join #room name
or private messaging the individual with which you are speaking /msg
Username. Ops will issue two warnings for this offense, repeated offenses
earn you a kick, and continued offenses will result in a banning.
Also OOC needs to be in (( )), or some similar form of
brackets. If you speak OOC without them, an op will tell you to use
them.
Excessive OOC
(Out Of Character) will warrant a
temp ban. The ops will state when there has been enough OOC and will declare
an OOC channel open for issue discussion. If normal RP is not resumed and
the OOC keeps on going in the channel, you're out. Don't try to argue, you
were warned.
13. No
copyrighted characters are allowed.
If you want to play a character that is from a TV show, movie,
novel, comic book, etc. go find some place else to play it. It's not
tolerated here. If you are found to be playing a copyrighted character, you
will be warned once to stop using it. Continue playing afterward, you will
be kicked. Return and continue to play him/her, even at a later date, and
you will be banned until you stop using the character. Notify an op in msg
if you've stopped. If you come back in and later on resume using that
character, you will be permanently banned.
14. Martial
Law
Under extreme circumstances, the OP's do have the right to close the
Chat room or the Channel to all people; reasons ranging from mass
confusion, arguing, or people bypassing bans to get back onto the channel.
They may also put the room in Moderation Mode and Voice the patrons in its
stead. This provision is to be used with extreme caution and care, but is
regrettably permissible under these situations. Be aware though, that an op that abuses this right,
will be called into question by the channel owners, and may have his or her
op status revoked, if the cause was not sufficient.
15. Colors other
than dark red, dark gray, dark blue, teal, black and purple are not
permitted.
Colors
other then dark red, dark
grey, dark blue, teal,
black and purple are
not permitted. If you use brighter
colors, you will be warned once, then kicked if you persist.
16. No age, sex,
or location checks.
This isn't a sex
or pickup channel, as should be obvious by its name. There is
no warning in this matter, you will be kicked at once. If you do it in msg
and the other person doesn't have a problem with it, no worries. If they do,
they are to report it to an op AT ONCE, and the person responsible will be
kicked.
17. No obscene
nicks.
It's
completely intolerable, and not funny. This is an immediate kick and ban
until you change it
18. We're not a
political stage or an evangelist's podium.
There will be no religion or political discussion in
channel, unless it portrays to your character.
19. Any channel
takeover attempts are grounds for automatic & permanent ban. No second
chances.
20. No op
begging.
We make
decisions to appoint new ops if you've been RP-ing for a while and have
shown yourself to be level-headed and respected. We will notify YOU of the
proposal. If you try to msg an op begging for an @, that op has the right to
IMMEDIATELY kick you next to that you wont be chosen.
21.Ops have the right to remove
any player from the channel
that they believe
is being disruptive, regardless of if any of the previous rules have been
broken. Be aware though, that an op that abuses this right, will be called
into question by the channel owner, and may have his or her op status
revoked, if the cause was not sufficient.
The Site owners of Alexandria By Night and the OOC channel
reserve the right to change, amend, delete, and add new rules that may
apply in the future. As the site grows and changes, so must its rules and
guidelines to comply with the demands.
That, while
these rules may seem constraining and very limiting, this is still a game.
And games are meant to be fun. We, the ops, aren't here to throw rocks from
on high. We're here to help guide the role-playing for the enjoyment of as
many people as we can. If you have a question, or a VALID complaint, please
don't hesitate to msg an op. State your question or complaint in a calm and
respectful manner, and we will do our best to see that your question or
complaint is addressed as quickly and as well as we can. OOC again that same
night you will be banned for 24 hours. Keep a handle on it people, you're
smarter than that.
