Present: Keith, Pres., Gary, Vice Pres., Greg, Sec./Treas.,H. Mitch, Bruce, Robert, Mike, Jim, owner H&S

Meeting started at 9:30.

Coat Check: A coat check will be held tomorrow night, Mar 2, at H&S during the Black Out party. There was a sign up for one hour shifts.  Jim will provide the tickets for the coat check. Gary is to get hte hangers.  The plan is to have the coat checked in the kitchen.  The cost will be $1.  This is to go toward future NEILA events and expenses for same.

Jim stated that the Black Out Party would have a $3 cover with a token for a free drink. The strippers will start at 11:30pm.  Bill has been notified not to take any coats at the back bar.

Future Events:
March 30: Out of Hibernation
A coat check was discussed.  Since this is technically a Bear Event, we thought that we would ask the Bear Group if they wanted to host the coat check as a fund raiser for their group.

April 4 thru 6: Leather Sir/Leather Boy Contest.
Gary filled us in that this is part of the International Leather Sir/Leather Boy Contest.  Hence, in order to be able to go on to future events in the system, we must abide by a group of set rules.

Jim had felt that the poor turn-out for applicants was due to the fact that the rules were too intense.  This is what he had been told.  Jim understood the need to abide by the national rules.

NEILA will be involved in the organization of this event.  Namely, Greg will be, since Keith and Gary are competing and therefore cannot be involved in any other way. Boy Brent is to get in touch with Greg.  This has not happen to date.

We will be responsible for the stage area control, etc.

Gary said that Brent has notified the judges that the contestants here are novices and therefore they will "Go easy on them".  The main point of the contest is to believe in the leather lifestyle, promote it positively and show well that night.  H volunteered to help Greg with the contest.

May 23 thru 27: IML
Gary urged us to get our reservations NOW! Perhaps we can car pool to Chicago for the event.

June 29: Pride Fest
We will have a booth there.  The cost for the booth is $40. Jim offered to cover that cost for us.  The event this year will be at Headwaters Park--West.

Mitch is working on a NEILA flag that will be on display for the event.  The home for the flag when not in use, will be at Hide and Seeks.  Jim has graciously offered a prominent place to hang our flag.  There will also be the Bear, Leather, and American flags on display in the bar soon.

We will have information about the group to hand out at the Fest along with possible items and info from Pride Island as give aways.  We will contact D & M for possible items to sell. The logo of Hide and Seeks, our home bar, will be displayed prominently and on all literature we pass out.

The hours of the Fest are: 11am until 9pm.  Booths are usually open from 11am until 5pm.

Oops....back to April (the VP did not have all his shit in calendar order)
At the Unitarian church here in Ft. Wayne, there will be a Pride Concert for all of the GLBT community.

July? Camp-It  Saugatuck, Naked in the woods. Need I say more. Please see Keith's posts about times and dates for this FUN event.

Aug. 22 thru 25: Great Lakes Regional Alliance pan Sexual Gay/Lesbian Event.

This will include the states of MI, IL, WI, IN, OH, KY, MN.  Who ever wins the state Leather Sir/Leather Boy contest will be competing here.

This will all be held in Indianapolis. Gary volunteered our group to host the Dungeon. Or should I say "monitor" it. H volunteered to help us with this. (He has experience with this from IML).

There may be a timing problem with this event because the Ohio Leather Fest is the same weekend.  Therefore, the dates may be changing.

The next meeting for the planning of this event is March 22.

ALSO ON MARCH 23: BRENT WILL BE IN A CONTEST IN EVANSVILLE. We should think about going and cheering him on!!!

Sept. 8: Aids Walk:
Greg reported that there is a great need for volunteers to tear down things after the walk is over.  We also want to sponsor a team to walk.  We should be walking in "Summer" leather and a smile.

________
We discussed ideas of fund raising besides the coat check.  Ideas that came up: Hankie sales, a special Karoake night at the bar. Jim said that if we show a good effort to make all of this work (the group), he would be willing to sponsor an event for us such as Slave Night proceeds going to NEILA.

the meeting adjourned at 10:15.

Respectfully submitted (but not responsible for spelling errors or type-o's)

Greg
Sec./Treas. NEILA
