Thanks to Mitch and Rick for getting two more contestants. We are now up to four. Also, a BIG thanks to Brent for all his hard work putting this event together. This is the first event of its kind in Ft. Wayne. Not only are we gaining notice here in Indiana, but Chicago is hearing about us. This is to the devoted efforts of Keith and Gary. Thanks guys!!! The Schedule for the Contest Weekend (April 5 and April 6) Friday: Greet and meet. The contestants will mingle among the crowd at the bar along with the judges. Everything starts at around 10:30pm Saturday: Interviews will be held in the afternoon at the bar. These interviews are closed to the public. Evening: The real fun begins. Also, should have some demonstrations. Should be VERY good. Evening ends with the awarding of the titles. Good Luck Guys J Be at the bar by around 10:30pm to get a cocktail and get in “the mood”. A special thanks to Jim, Mitch and the staff of Hide and Seeks for their efforts to make this evening a success. You guys are fantastic…. __________________ Regional Leather Alliance meeting dates: April 12, and April 26. Place: Upstairs at the Metro in Indy. Time: 8pm All are invited to learn more about this great regional group that is forming. Major Event to be held the weekend of August 23, 2002. The Bear group will be running the coat check for the Out of Hibernation party at the bar. Thanks guys!! ___________ We discussed getting patches with the NEILA logo for our bar vests. Gary and Keith along with Miss Denise are looking into the best prices etc. We are not sure yet if part of the cost will be deferred by the treasury of the group (which is about $70 at this point. I will post a treasurer report at a later date.). If not, the cost will be completely paid by the members. This patch would go on the back of your vests. It would be about 6” by 6”. This is normal procedure in the leather community. And since our group is getting major regional notice, it is important to show our participation and pride. ___________ We discussed a fund raising event of selling Hankies. We would start with the major likes of those in Ft. Wayne. The hankies would be sold by the group at special events at the bar and at the booth we will have at the Pride Fest ’02. There will be a listing created to match the color with what fetish it stands for. This is type of sales are historic in the leather community and has raised great funds for other groups. It is thought that we would start with 15 categories with 10 hankies available in each group. This is just to start. We hope this will be really popular and be a great fund raiser. Jim had a great deal of good ideas with this project and has been gracious enough to allow us to hook up sales with events. Thanks Jim! ___________ MARK YOUR CALENDAR May 4th: Blackout and Wet T-Shirt/Boxer Night at the bar. This will be a hankie sale night. We will introduce the whole idea to the bar. (If you are like me, there is always a problem keeping everything in my boxers…oh well….hope a lot of guys have that problem. J) May 24 thru May 26: Mr. Hide and Seeks Contest There will be a competition including: Bar Ware, Formal Ware, Lounge Ware (use your imagination. ) May 24 Drag kick off show May 25 Professional Strippers May 26 Contest June 22: Rummage Sale and Midnight Cook-out at the bar. Sounds interesting J ___________ For the next meeting: We are looking for suggestions for the by-laws of the group. Other groups by-laws will be collected to give us examples to go by. Next Meeting/Leather night: May 3 at 9:30pm at the bar. See you there!! Yours in Leather, Buster Sec./Tres. Of NEILA |
