¤ Name
Sumuru (pronounced soo moo roo)
¤ Species/nationality
Danachian human
¤ Gender
Female (heterosexual)
¤ Age
14
¤ Rank
Bodyguard and servant to Piosa
¤ Duties
Protecting and caring for Piosa, as well as being her companion and confidant (yes, it's her duty, though she enjoys it). To act and look tough, which includes masquerading as a young lad, to discourage would-be predators (human or animal).
¤ Home
Wherever Piosa decides to be.
¤ Physical Description ¤
¤ Hair
Her raven-black ringlets are very short, cut in a boyish as opposed to pixie-like style. They are topped off with a brown wool beret.
¤ Eyes
Flinty blackish-grey. They lack the softness of one who can trust, except when regarding her companion Piosa, their bondmates Lavender Guastatoth and Black Wachterth, and small children. And her adoring fans... *sigh* -_-;
¤ Physique
Purposefully androgynous: for one her age she is slightly tall for a girl, about average for a boy; slightly muscular for a girl, normal for an active young man. In other words, overall she is of medium build with well-defined, slightly wiry muscles. Her hands are calloused, and perhaps a little slender for a boy, but they are too active for much attention to be paid to them in that respect. An adversary would most likely be eyeing the blade in said hand, a young maid would likely be looking elsewhere, such as Sumuru's depthless eyes... Her face is heart-shaped and slightly elfin, but her jaw has a hard edge to it that suggests that of a scrappy youth.
¤ Appearance
Sumuru, thanks to her charge's rank, is dressed in fine but well-worn clothing. Her tan-colored trousers have a slender but not tight-fitting cut to them so as not to reveal her budding slender feminine curves. Rather, they accentuate the lazy, powerful strength of a fighter. She wears dark-brown leather boots and a purple tunic tailored in a style intended for a young man. Blades are hidden everywhere from boots to shirtsleeves, both daggers and two styles of throwing knives; a belt knife and short-sword are her belt's only adornments. She wears no jewelry.
¤ Personality ¤
¤ Attitude
Hard and untrusting of men in particular (this is due mostly to her training), very quiet and watchful, able to observe without one's knowledge. Around Piosa and away from prying eyes, she is laid back and even cheery, feminine. She loves children; they seem drawn to her, able perhaps to read a young girl's kind if carefully-guarded aura. Also drawn to her are young women who easily fall for 'heroes' and 'protectors.'
¤ Hobbies
Sumuru practices her throwing and dueling on a daily basis, while Piosa either sits and watches or does a small project (sewing, embroidery, painting, etc.). Sometimes she practices as well, using a set of slender throwing knives once given to her by Sumuru for protection should they ever be separated. One thing she has always liked to do with Piosa is wander the fields on foot or on the back of a paard, it doesn't matter which.
¤ Likes/dislikes
One of the many problems with her job is the attention of what she considers silly, boy-crazy girls. It isn't Sumuru's fault that she must dress and act like a boy, something that can be quite fun, and alternately imperative to their survival. Understandably however, very secretly she wishes for the adoration of just one man, someday, instead. It isn't something she admits to her dear friend Piosa, who would undoubtedly be crushed if she ever found out the truth (despite Sumuru's lower rank). Better to let her believe that Sumuru has and always will love being a roguish, tomboyish guardian.
¤ Family ¤
Piosa is the only person Sumuru considers family. Her father, a guard for the Keep, has always been a distant and looming figure: dark and ever watchful, like a gargoyle. She was taken from her mother, to be with Piosa, before she can remember. Whether she is or not, to her the woman is dead. Her teachers have been many, including her own father, but none became very attached to her.
