Yam-Head: A Chibi-Usa Shrine: http://www.oocities.org/Tokyo/Shores/7097/ This is the second Chibusa shrine that we've reviewed in the last two months. The "little spore" must be growing on us. ::grin:: The webmaster takes an off-topic approach to the shrine. The main character appears not be be Chibusa herself, but "Yam-Head", the cartoon whatever-it-is holding up a four-leafed clover on each page of the site. The pink-haired one is not to be seen on the front page, and the site is a shrine to her. Oh well! Into the material I dive... The site is easy to mavigate and the graphics are toned down and are in no way intrusive. Checking on the information on the site, for the most part, it is okay. However, in some places, the webmaster injects her own opinions into the information, (just the facts) and there are grammar and spelling errors which make reading the information difficult. The "mini-moon" information is news to me. If it is true, the NA dub may lose whatever chance it ever had to regain some of the "purists", and that was a slim chance at best. However, since I am not certain whether the information is right, I won't count it against the site, but I also won't rely on it. The rant in the flames section will be dealt with in a seperate article. I found the site to be an interesting take on a much-maligned character. There are certainly some things that could be changed, and if the changes are implemented, I think the site will be much better off for doing so. Artemis' Score: 4.8 Hmm…I honestly don't know where to start. For a site apparently dedicated to such a sweet character there sure is a lot of hostility here. First of all I'm not sure wether this webmistress has fully accepted her responsibility as a webmaster to a Chibi Usa site. The whole theme is anything but CU related and features a cartoonish grain of wheat (you heard me) carrying a four-leaf clover. (by the way, fix it. It's proportions are all wrong) VERY interesting. She also, while I believe she thinks she's doing the right thing, posts a flame sent in by a concerned parent. This parent is honestly worried about the content of the site and simply asks for the webmistress to understand and tone it down. She very rudely makes fun of this woman publicly, criticising every aspect of the letter right down to how she spelt Korn. Apparently we're disrespectful if we don't spell it; KoRN. Give me a break. While we're on spelling, has she checked her own lately? There must be at least two mistakes in every sentence she's written! I can honestly say that I don't like hypocrites. Something else that annoyed me was the fact that she won't update this page until the S season airs. But, hey, when she does, she's promised to incorporate some Meredith Brooks into her CU Shrine *Shudder*. On the bright side, all her information is correct and she has even added the "Mini-Moon" story to her page so we know she's aware of new happenings. Why not ask for visitor's opinions on the name? Get some interaction with your audience besides laughing at them? I'm sorry if I come across harsh but honestly this webmistress comes across as, well, mean. I know I'm not reviewing her character here but it does come through on her page and personally even I would be afraid to offer her advice. Diana's Score: 2
