Bad Girls

Bad Girls is a simple, but informative site about the Sailor Animates, the villians in the final season of Sailor Moon.

In fact, the splash page is a bit deceptive. It is sparse and simple, and one might get the impression that there is not much to this site. That is not quite the case.

The site emphasises information about the villains in the last season of Sailor Moon, and it does so in a concise and simple way. The Animates and Sailor Galaxia are each given their own section, and then, each individual villain is given a writeup, complete with a small picture so that the uninformed know which character is which.

There are a few other tidbits around the site, such as some funny quotes, and a section called "Villany 101" where some of the classic faults of the badguys are spelled out, and all of this is accessable through the drop-down Nav menu on the main page.

There are a couple minor things that could be worked on at Bad Girls. The site tends to load slowly, and it appears this is because of the picture on the main page. This should be checked to see something is wrong.

Also, I noticed a lot of missing capitals in the information. In the heading for a character, the author capitalizes each letter at the beginning of each word, "Sailor Tin Nyanko" for instance, and this is a good thing. The author then doesn't do the same thing in the meat of the information..."Sailor Tin nyanko" and this tends to look a bit strange.

Other than that, Bad Girls simply needs to add more material. It's already a great site to come to for information, especially if you are like me, and have not had a chance to see the final season of the series.

LAYOUT: A

The first page you see looks clean, interesting and inviting. From the very start, I knew that this site isn't going to overpower your senses with clutter and DHTML junk. Putting the credits on the first page is also a nice professional touch.

I continued browsing the site and discovered that not only did the color schemes match with the front page, but -gasp!- also with the opening image. I know it's hard to match colors with each other- it's so tempting to just go ballistic with every image you find.

The way the webmistress(Bunny) tinted the internal images is also a creative design move. It truly reveals her sense of restraint. In turn, the character portraits are lovely and they bring out the individual characters' personalities.

NAVIGATION: A

The navigation is simple to use and blends with the layout. It is obvious, but not annoying. In a word, wonderful. Bunny also has no problem calling attention to the areas which deserve it. One nitpick though: the link to "Links" is broken. Gotta fix that. Especially when each link is one-tenth of your site.

CONTENT/INFO: A

I'm not familiar on SailorStars, so I found the information very helpful. I'm glad Bunny put her original spin on enemies such as this statement about Sailor Iron Mouse: "Out of all of the Animamates, she is very cute, and certainly the least boring." With opinions like these, I knew the site was unique and I was tempted to read more. I'm especially thankful that Bunny decided to write about the relationships between each Animate, because information like that is so hard to come by.

The "fun" section is icing on the cake, further fleshing out the site's personality. These pages offer a closer look at Sailor Stars. They make you want to share the webmistress's enthusiasm and love for the Animates.

OVERALL: A

This site serves as a well-rounded introduction to the villains of SailorStars. It makes you want to watch (or rewatch) even more. On top of that, the site's efficient, responsible layout makes browsing effortless. I'd be more than willing to surf through some of Bunny's other sites:
