Meanwhile, Prince Samoyta betrays Percival and acquires the Flea Beacon. The story reaches an amazing climax as Samoyta (now crowned king) wages war against several Isaacs and Lemontes. At the time it was believed that these multiple versions were taken from different points on the time line, but would later be discovered to have come from a replica factory.
Percival discovers Samoyta's deceit and quickly disposes of him. He then uses the Beacon to manipulate 'time' to undo many of Samoyta's evil deeds but at a cost. Such manipulations allows Creo, with the aid of Lucy, to find and kill Percival and claim the Beacon for his own. Falling prey to its enticing and corruption powers, Creo loses his sanity destroying Lucy and many others. Things were now worse. The series ends with the corrupted Creo walking off into the sunset with complete and thorough domination on his mind.
All in all, Series 2 was a great start to the Beacon Franchise and is still considered one of the better Beacon Comics ever made. Though it may be hard to find even a reprint (the originals are impossible), but if you ever come across one, its definitely worth picking up.
This series essentially takes off right where Series 2 left off. Isaac, displaced from his allies due to Percival's manipulation of 'Time', finds himself in the heart of Lignid Dessert. Teaming up with the gun toting monkey, Kaito, Isaac continues his pursuit of Creo. The two never find Creo but do encounter Tuskon Hilt, a bullet proof replica of Isaac. Though Hilt has superior strength, Kaito and Isaac manage to 'monkey' their way to victory when Hilt greatly underestimates their conviction and resourcefulness.
Meanwhile, the Toppedome Triplets reunite to battle the man responsible for their father's death, Grilford Kudo. The Triplets do destroy Kudo but with the loss of Wendy Toppedome's life, who was burned to death by Kudo's pet dragon, Jerpie.
As this is going on, Creo overcomes the insanity brought to him by the Beacon. Freeing of himself of its grip, Creo tosses the Beacon into the dessert in the hopes of it never being discovered again. He then recruits the help of Percival (who he unslayed before relinquishing the Beacon) to help him destroy a secret Replica factory. The comic ends with the chilling image of Percival and Creo facing certain doom as they stand before 1000's of Isaac Replicas.
Series 5 is considered another excellent work. The one complaint most fans do give about it is its lack of closure in the majority of the story lines. We are never told the fates of Percival and Creo, or Isaac and Kaito for that matter, until much later in several Flea Beacon Short stories. Despite the loose ends it leaves open, Series 5 is worthy of purchase.
