Agamemnon! Lord of our lives! Let's all take a moment to revel in the glory that is the King of Kings, shall we? Archon and I thought that such the High King deserved the honour of our very first Hero of the Month, seeing as he's the ranking soldier in the Iliad, and a really smashing fellow besides!
Name: Agamemnon Atreusson
Hair Colour: Blond
Eye Colour: Blue
Height: Fairly short--stimpier than Menelaus, but taller than Odysseus
Build: Simply regal
Blood Type: Em... lots of it
Weapon of Choice: Spear
Archnemesis: Clytemnestra
Best Friend/Sidekick: Menelaus
Family: Disastrous. Four kids (Orestes and Electra, who took after him, a bitter future priestness named Iphigenia, adopted from Helen and Menelaus, and a soft bland housewife type named Chrysothemis). His wife, Clytemnestra, has never gotten along with him, and because of the constant mutual hostility, he attempted (but failed) to secure a divorce at about the time Menelaus was getting married to Helen. At least he gets along famously with his more stable and understanding brother, Menelaus.
Curses: Lives under the hereditary Atrean Curse (see here for more information)
Personality Traits: Rude, blustery, extremely egotistical, passionate and depressed.
Also Known As: "The King of Kings", "Atreus' Son", "Atreides", "Jackass"
Zodiac Symbol (probable): Taurus
Hobbies: Insulting Myrmidons, bawling at night, brooding, and purposefully irritating others for his own amusement (although it could be argued he's really sticking it to The Man).
Life in Brief: After his parents were killed, he and his brother Menelaus grew up in exile, finally returning to mete justice on their parents' murderers. He became King of Argos--or possibly Mycenae--and married future axe-murderess Clytemnestra, having several depressing children (well, seeing as Clytemnestra was having an affair with his cousin Aegisthus at the time, his paternity is not assured--though Orestes and Electra certainly bear the Atrean mental traits, Chrysothemis seems too stable). When the Trojan War broke out, he commanded the Greek forces expertly and led them to victory (though it's true he nearly killed them all by stealing Achilles' girl). After nine years when the Greeks finally triumphed, he won Cassandra as his prize and took her home with him to Argos. Clytemnestra was not pleased, and was mad anyway cause she thought he'd sacrificed their adopted daughter Iphigenia. Since they already had a long history of fierce antagonism, she snapped under pressure from Aegisthus and murdered her husband in his bath.
