I have decided to try to keep a log over my activities in Japan so that my friends and family can keep track of what is going on in my life. Also it might provide an interesting introduction to Japan and its culture for people who haven´t been there. I will try to update once a week and complement the text with pictures taken with my digital camera throughout my intended year-long stay in Japan.

Lupin III - Alcatraz Connection
Genre: Action/comedy
Length: 111 min (including commercial breaks)
Language: Japanese
Year: 2001
Format: TV-special
Director: Hideki Tonokatsu

Lupin III and the gang are back again! This time they are fighting a crime syndicate in San Francisco, trying to find a hidden treasure.

If you don't know who Lupin III and his gang are, then you better check the links below. To put it simply, Lupin is the world's greatest thief and he is so great that in order to increase the challenge he always leaves a note before he does a job. To his help he has a bearded gunman named Jigen - who can draw nearly as fast as Lucky Luke, and a samurai named Goemon - who has a sword that can cut through anything (although he usually dislikes using it). There is also a female spy named Fujiko - who some times works together with Lupin, and some times against him. Lastly there is the Interpol inspector Zenigata - whose purpose in life is hunting Lupin. Although Lupin's is his archenemy, they often end up helping each other beating some even worse criminal. Since chasing Lupin is Zenigata's only purpose in life, he is always devastated when he is fooled to think that Lupin has died. And, since he is not too bright, he always falls for it.
