Synopsis: We open with Cain in a hospital bed all bandaged up. He escapes with class, and we soon find him in a bar disguised as a special agent. Later on, he tells a Cassandra look-alike about how he killed Batman. Unfortunately, the woman reminds him that he was beat up by Batman, and he remembers the harsh reality: Batman beat the stuffing out of him over Batgirl. When the Cassandra look-alike offers him her “services,” he rejects her. (Note: She may look like Cassandra, but she is NOT Cassandra.) We then see more of Batman beating Cain up. Back at Cain’s Macau lair, which is now covered in police ribbons and surrounded by special agents, Cain beats up several agents in a fit of rage while looking for his Cassandra tapes. He is told that they are in Gotham Forensics Lab. At the lab, Cain, still disguised as a special agent, makes his way through the building searching for the tapes. After several close calls, he finds the room where the tapes are. The sorter goes to get them, but the alarm sounds. Cain quickly grabs the tapes and makes his escape. Just when we think he’ll succeed, Batgirl appears and starts beating him up. He tries his best to explain things to her, and even tells her that he didn’t kill anyone, but Batgirl will not have any of it, and continues to pound away. When he is almost unconscious, Batgirl checks out the bag of tapes... and realizes why Cain was stealing them. In a rather beautiful ending, she gives him the tapes and he runs away after apologizing from the bottom of his heart.
