We could see out for miles over the canyon. The sun cast some awesome shadows over the canyon and changed as the sun moved overhead.
As we went through the canyon, we saw many different land forms and layers in through the rocks.
The distance between where we started at the top of the rim to the river at the bottom was about 4000 feet. Many times we could see straight down 1000 feet below us.
Not the entire trail went downhill. Some of it was on flat land as we traveled through the valley.
