I have found that friends who live a thousand miles away,
Have added color to my life in written words they say.
They always show more interest, than friends along the street,
Who do not know my thoughts at all, though many times we meet.
I would not trade this priceless gift, for anything on earth,
Because through correspondence,
I have found what friends are worth.

Comments: Would like to share thoughts and letters with people who have PAD and may it be male or female. I have had PAD for about 20 years and sometimes it's real bad, sometimes it goes away for months, but can't travel on plane or too far, but love to travel when the PAD isn't traveling with me. Have been on and off pills trying not the st.johns wort, still not sure. Love to hear from anyone interested in writing.

Hobbies: I love to do decopage, cake decorating, reading, doing mosaic work and cooking.

Comments: I have had agoraphobia and panic problems for as long as I can remember. I am originally from New York but have lived in Michigan for 5 years and just moved to Nevada a little over a year ago.
I have been married for 6 years and it has caused quite a bit of trouble in my marriage. Now we are trying to work things out but I am still VERY limited as to what I can do alone or with someone. I refuse to take drugs for this. I did decide to take Paxil but I had terrible side effects from it and found that I am somewhat comfortable in NOT taking meds.

I would love to find someone in my area in Nevada who has the same problem. It's been very difficult for me here and I have not found a place to help with this specific problem or people who suffer from the same thing.

Hobbies: Music, writing, outdoor sports, ie hunting, fishing, etc.

Comments: I'm a very outspoken individual with a lot of different kinds of interests. I have had problems with anxiety in the past but am currently enjoying a good recovery. I believe very strongly in our own power to control anxiety using positive thinking and positive acting kinds of things. Not many agree with me on this because it sounds too easy. The exact opposite is true however, it has been one of the most difficult things I have ever done. Only the concept sounds easy.

When I was born my dad left me and I always eat whenever I'm upset so I have become horizontially gifted and people make fun of me, I also look like an elf and people bug me and ask me if they can have some of my pixie dust. JODY, Female
From: Hillsborough, New Jersey, USA
Email: ReddheddNJ@aol.com

Hobbies: Horticulture, dancing, crossword puzzles, visiting historical places

Comments: This condition can keep you hostage for as long as you let it. It's cruel, insidious and sneaky, but eventually it does pass. There are good and bad days, and the one sentence that has gotten me through the hard times is: "The success is in the doing...not necessarily doing it in comfort." I've also found that if I face the fear head on, I "scare" it away.
