"I Am Thankful For..."

" I am thankful for God in Heaven who helps me to fight this struggle within my body, and helps me to regain control against this evil disorder.

I am also thankful for my wonderful soul mate who walks this earth with me and seeks to comfort and understand this disorder even though he has never experienced it.
I am very greatful for all of the "critters" in my life who give me unconditional love and help to distract me from fears and worries with their funny antics.
I find that having them around me, depending on me to care for their needs helps so much in the fight against PAD.

" I am thankful for my wonderful family who are always there for me. Without them it would be almost impossible for me to handle my panic attacks. Especially my mother she understands what I am going through because she suffers from the same thing. She makes me get my mind off of the panic attack and makes me laugh and in like seconds the attack is over. I love my mom, dad, brother, doggie, and kittie cat very much and I am very very lucky to have each and every one of them.

"I am thankful for my support dog, Mollie. When there's no person around to help me get out of the house.....she is always there. She never says, "Wait till later". She is always ready to go when I have the courage. She doesn't engage in lengthy conversations with people along the way nor does she get mad if I have to turn back. I don't always feel like going for a walk but she does! When she comes to me with her wagging tail, expectant face and she whines, I reflect on how much she has done for me. I reach for her leash and away we go. Sometimes I can only walk circles around the back yard but she is content with that."

"I am thankful for everything in my life because I know God's in control and He will not let anything happen to me that would not be for my growth and fulfillment. Through experiences that we go through, whether bad or good,we mature and learn. "

"I am thankful for Jesus, my family, my health, my home,my friends , being an American, and being alive. "

"I am thankful that I can go out.I know some of us cannot and also for the chats. I don't feel so alone anymore ! "

"I am thankful for my wonderful husband, children and sweet little grandkids; for the Lord's saving grace. I am thankful for being able to work at a full time job when I know many can't. I thank the Lord for giving me my 50 yrs young even 'tho this monster has tried to destroy it; and for this wonderful website which I just happened to surf across. It's a relief to see all ages and degrees of this PAD. Does anyone out there also share Mitral Valve Prolapse which sometimes goes hand in hand with PAD?"

"I am thankful for finding you guys, for my wonderful family who has stuck by me and to God for allowing me to be alive and healthy in spite of myself. I also am thankful that with time and a lot of help, there is relief out there for us all!!!!!
Thank you Eileen for thinking of others like us to help!!!"

"I am thankful for the beauty and innocence of Children, for the precious little arms that hug my neck, and the sweet little unexpected things that they say. For a baby's first smile, and the purity of their little souls. I pray that we will all become as children in our hearts. The think that causes this anxiety disorder in the first place is feeling insecure in comparison with others. If we could be more childlike, and let go of all of the false fronts, we wouldn't have to spend our lives being sad and scared that we aren't as good as others. Instill in your babies and children a sense of security and self worth. Take the time to listen to them, and really feel what they feel. God Bless you all! You are wonderful, and you do have worth!"

"I am thankful for God and my faith in Him, the support I receive, the air I breathe, the many good days I have. I am also thankful for this page and all the others out there that offer support to those of us with PAD."

"I am thankful to a Heavenly Father who has heard my prayers and helped me to survive the pain, the fear, the lonliness and frustrations of not knowing what was happening to me. I am thankful that He gave me courage to seek professional help - those whom He has given knowledge about such disorders. I'm thankful for the "good days" and count my many blessings. May God bless all of you with strength to survive and be at peace."

"I am thankful for my mother. She struggled all her life with panic attacks and never knew what her problem was until she was in her 60's. I am thankful that she and I can help each other with this illness, an illness that most people do not and can not understand. During the worst times of heavy depression I know she is praying for me. My mother and I are the only ones in our family that suffer from panic disorder and I pray that I can always say 'I am thankful that my children do not suffer from panic disorder.'"

"I am thankful for one daughter who isn't sick from panic attacks."

"I am thankful for moments of relaxation; times when I'm not so apperceptive that I have to concentrate on not thinking (which, by the way, never works). I am thankful for pages like this - pages where I know I'm not alone, where I don't have to hide what's going on inside my body, my mind. Most of all, I'm thankful for the knowledge that I can survive."

"I am thankful God,
For everything You give and gave me,
For the air, for my body, for my home.
But if I did not have anything,
I still should be grateful,
I still would say Thank You Lord
Because I love You and I know You love me,
Because You gave me life,
And because You protect me with Your love,
Today and Always,
I want to say: Thank You Lord!"

"I am thankful for my supportive husband, for finally finding good doctors who help me deal with panic attacks, for the friends I've made, for making it through this very rough year!"

"I am thankful for my faith; my family, even though it is not perfect; my ability to make friends and help them out when they need whatever kind of help that they might need and want; my music and singing abilities; and my teaching ability."

"I am thankful for the Good Lord giving me the courage to do the things I have to do every day and helping me to deal with the panic."

"I am thankful for you Eileen. You are a very big help to a lot of people and I don't know whether you get enough thanks for all the good advice and the friendly ear you always have ready. Thank You Eileen!"

"I am thankful for a wonderful hubby who has helped me through this hard time in my life, and for all my friends on the net with the same problem who have helped me realize that I am Not alone...they have been a great help."

"I am thankful for my two fantastic sons!"

"I am thankful for the many people I have met and corresponded with through Agoraphobics In Action, Inc. and my internet friends, especially Eileen Power and her beautiful web site. This has helped me through some hard times."

"I am thankful for all the love and support that surround me and that I can give."

"To those of you who visited my page,
And made me feel so good with your praise.
To those who encouraged and sent up prayers,
To those who helped to lighten my fears.
To those who held out their hand to me,
To those who helped wipe tears away...
My heartfelt thanks go out to you all.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day."
