Window of fear
January 2, 2003
My God, you've opened wide this window of fear,
when you slammed two jumbojets into the twin
towers of economic dominance, and you've never
gone to bed after that so that this world will be
safe and free from other inflicted wounds from afar.
Now the markets are swirling down to their lowest
rating and jobs are scrapped so heavily in return,
travellers shy away from their usual destinations;
visitors hedge their intentions against perceived threats
and science is slowly putting a veil, all for worse.
Why did you open this window, and tell me why did
you keep it open for this long;
the stress that we suffer, the passion is well over here
but the moment is still passing right before my eyes.
Hold on to me darling we just need to scale a ladder
to climb down from the floor of despair,
better to face the extreme horror of sliding out that window
than to dread walking to it and viewing the view;
But I regret to tell you that I know I'm alone
you will not join me in defeating this gurgling inside
my guts have no use ending the heating and cooking
when my mind can by pass it's demeanor and slowly
repair.
Let's conquer once and for all this window of fear,
let's open our hearts to the fire that's inside
let's believe our own eyes and listen will gladness
to the sound of the heavens as normal as before.
