COE - the 1600cc category and free parking on Saturday
After 2 rounds of bidding based on the new system, it seems obvious that the "lower income" families who need a small car to are been "bided out of the race". Prior to the new system, I have never been in favour of grouping the small cars with the below 1600cc group. The small car group families have different need for that car, especially when both parents are working and the children need to be fetched around to the child-care or the guardians etc. the 1000cc category should be in a group by itself, then the competition will not arise and coe for it would not be in the 40k region for the simple reason that car owners in this group know what they are prepared to bid rather than competing with the 1300 or 1600cc owners. hopefully, "someone, somewhere" (who else but the government) should re-consider the grouping again.
The government should consider free parking on Saturday from 2.00pm to 11.00; that is, extend the Sunday free parking scheme to Saturday as well.
I have sold my "small" car to take public transport. before that I have to have the car because of necessity for transportation. every events in the morning had to be completed by 8.00am etc.
