Assume that there are 500 000 households in Singapore, the collected fee will amount to $55 000 000 annually. Hence it should remain unchanged since '94. moreover the number of household will increase (?). Divide the collected amount by 4000hrs of program per year, the cost is $13750 per hour. still fees are collected from the commercials/advertisements and also certain amount of sponsorship (?). if SBA cannot do away with the fees, it should consider reducing the fee by half. Would $6875 be sufficient for producing 1 hour of "socially important" programme? The points put forth by SBA are not convincing enough.
