Canadian's View on Safety/Inline Skaters & Scooters
To Editor I love to visit my son and his family in your lovely city. This visit while I was playing with my grandaughters in various playgrounds I was distressed to see the lack of consideration with inline skaters and young people with their scooters. The scooters are very aggresive and are often left in unsafe areas for example at the base of slides and climbing equipment. Their appears to be little caution for the operator such as safety equipment to protect themselves. The scooters are showing up in restaurants inside and out. These areas have customers old and young and someone will eventually get hurt. In Canada helmets and knee guards and elbow pads are used widely. I realize these toys are fun but they are also relatively new and need to have guidelines so that no one will suffer a serious injury. Thank you for the space to voice my concern
