Roleplay Number: 06 XWF Record: 02 - 03 - 00 Opponent: 'Old School' Steve Corino vs. CM Punk Event: Summerslam
The Old School Legacy: Old School Victims: Roleplay Title: " Straight Edge... meet Old School " The scene opens with a shot of a medium-sized raining facility in what looks like an out of town location. The camera then cuts to a shot of two men walking across the car park towards the building's entrance. As the camera moves closer we see the men to be Steve Corino and Jack Victory. Corino is scheduled to face the young, up and coming CM Punk at Summerslam following his second XWF defeat this Thursday at Fight Night. The camera soon cuts to a close shot of Corino and Victory who are in conversation with each other. 'OLD SCHOOL' STEVE CORINO: ' You know Jack, I was plain disgusted by that kid CM Punk. First off he costs me the match by tapping out to Benoit and then he takes a chair into the ring and starts swinging it about. What way is that to behave inside the ring? ' 'OLD SCHOOL BELIEVER' JACK VICTORY: ' It's kids these days, they've got no respect. ' 'OLD SCHOOL' STEVE CORINO: ' You're damn right about that. I mean when I was a kid just off the indys, getting my first big shot, do you think I'd have been picking up a steel chair? No, of course not, it wouldn't even cross my mind. So where the hell does CM Punk get the idea that just 'cause he can't cut it with the big boys he's going to start to use weapons. ' 'OLD SCHOOL BELIEVER' JACK VICTORY: ' I'm telling you Steve it's all that rap music and damn heavy metal... there's too many bad influences out there. ' 'OLD SCHOOL' STEVE CORINO: ' Haha... you been watching Fox news again Jack? Seriously, there's a bigger problem with the kid's in the wrestling business. Forget what they're listening to... it's what they're watching. You see, night after night places like the XWF want to show guy's like Mick Foley and Raven in extreme matches and for some reason that's what the kid's at home want to see. That's what impresses them... they don't want to see old school wrestling and they don't want to see old school guys like myself. You know if anything is a bad influence it's extreme wrestling. ' 'OLD SCHOOL BELIEVER' JACK VICTORY: ' I guess kid's would rather grow up to be Mick Foley than Steve Corino. ' 'OLD SCHOOL' STEVE CORINO: ' Whoa... let's not go too far. I don't think anybody wants to grow up to be Mick Foley. But sadly they'd rather learn his sort of style of wrestling, if you can call it wrestling, instead of learning the art of classic, old school wrestling. But, you know there's still one or two men willing to train the damn disrespectful kids of today, and train them in true, old school wrestling. ' Steve Corino and Jack Victory have now reached the entrance to the building they had been approaching, and printed on the building is a large sign reading 'Paul Orndorff's Academy of Wrestling'. Corino glances up at it, as does Jack Victory and the two continue talking as they walk through the entrance way and into a small and empty reception area. 'OLD SCHOOL' STEVE CORINO: ' Where would we be without old school legends like Paul Orndorff? The guy's been trying to teach kids for years, and he trains them with old school methods so that none of them get an easy ride. I mean he ran things in the WCW Powerplant and nobody went through that place without busting a gut. If only there were more guys like Orndorff. ' Jack Victory nods his head in agreement before both he and Corino move through a set of double doors into a large training hall. Along the side of the hall are numerous weights and other training equipment and in the middle of the hall is a large wrestling ring where two young guys are putting on a match. The two young men are being watched over by an older looking man on the outside who's shouting abuse at them as well. Jack Victory and Steve Corino walk towards him and we hear what he's shouting. 'MR WONDERFUL' PAUL ORNDORFF: ' What the fuck d'you call that ya' damn maggots? If that excuse for a wrestling match is the best ya' can put on then ya' haven't got a hope in hell of making it in the wrestling business. Ya' might as well fuck off right now. ' Steve Corino smirks as he approaches Paul Orndorff, who continues to look on as his two pupils leave the ring looking rather dejected. Steve Corino then calls out from behind Orndorff who then swings around to greet Corino. 'OLD SCHOOL' STEVE CORINO: ' Looks like some things always stay the same. ' 'MR WONDERFUL' PAUL ORNDORFF: ' Haha... well if it ain't the King of Old School himself. And you brought your sidekick too. ' 'OLD SCHOOL BELIEVER' JACK VICTORY: ' Hey! I'll have you know I am the official manager of Steve Corino. ' 'MR WONDERFUL' PAUL ORNDORFF: ' Whatever... I just thought managers these days all wore pretty little dresses. ' 'OLD SCHOOL' STEVE CORINO: ' Don't say something like that you might give him an idea. ' 'MR WONDERFUL' PAUL ORNDORFF: ' Haha, well what brings you down here... I sure as hell could do with a few more guys like you around this place. 'OLD SCHOOL' STEVE CORINO: ' Ah well, I can't stay Paul. I just thought I'd come and see today's cream of the crop, the best young talent in the business. ' 'MR WONDERFUL' PAUL ORNDORFF: ' Look I don't know where the best young talent is but it sure as hell ain't here. Standards have gone way downhill lately. ' 'OLD SCHOOL' STEVE CORINO: ' Hmm... well to be honest I'm not to surprised to hear you say that, 'cause I honestly don't think there are any decent young guys around today. I mean I've got first hand experience of one of the new kids on the block, who everybody seems to get all excited about... CM Punk. Now if this guy is really one of the top young talents in the business then it doesn't say much for our business. You see last week I saw him tapping out and costing me my match with Ric Flair and Chris Benoit... that definitely wasn't too impressive. But, even worse after the match he grabs himself a steel chair and starts hammering into Flair and Benoit with it. Now, don't worry, you know me, I wasn't going to stand for that... so I took him and I took him down with my own two hands, not with some weapon. Now hopefully he's learned that you don't take a weapon into the ring when you're around the King of Old School, but I plan on driving that lesson home this Thursday at Summerslam when I go up against him one on one. ' 'MR WONDERFUL' PAUL ORNDORFF: ' You give him a right hand or two from me Steve, and once your done send off here and I'll whip him into shape. He sure as hell won't dare pick up a weapon around this place. ' 'OLD SCHOOL' STEVE CORINO: ' Haha, well you know I think we could get a little system going, once I defeat one of the XWF's hardcore thugs I can ship them off to you and you can always try and turn them into old school athletes like myself. Although, I've got to say you'll have a tough task on your hands. I mean no disrespect but there just isn't much hope for most of the guys in the XWF... those people are the reason that kids like CM Punk think it's okay to pick up a steel chair. Take the man at the very top of the XWF, Mick Foley, he couldn't wrestle his way out of a paper bag let alone take a man down with an armlock... he's a man who's built his whole career around steel chairs, thumbtacks and barbed wire.. what sort of career is that.' 'MR WONDERFUL' PAUL ORNDORFF: ' Hey... you don't need to talk to me about Mick Foley. I was calling him a stunt man long before Ric Flair ever did. But look, as much as I've got a big job in turning the kids of today into anythin' like professional wrestlers, you've got just as big a job. I mean the XWF ain't exactly the home of Old School wrestling and there's a hell of a lot that needs to change around there. ' 'OLD SCHOOL' STEVE CORINO: ' Well if there's one man who's going to change things it's going to be me... the next time you come to an XWF show I can assure you that it'll be a lot different. Hell, they'll even be getting rid of the Xtreme part of the name and changing it to Old School. ' 'MR WONDERFUL' PAUL ORNDORFF: ' Good luck with that Steve... I think you'll need it. ' Corino laughs as he firmly shakes hands with Orndorff and he walks away as Orndorff turns and does likewise. As Jack Victory catches up to him Steve Corino begins to speak as he makes his way towards the exit of the training hall. 'OLD SCHOOL' STEVE CORINO: ' You see what CM Punk really needs is a little while with Paul Orndorff... that'd sort him out. I'm sure he'd learn the proper way to act inside the ring... and who knows maybe he'd even learn enough to survive in this business. But, unfortunately for CM Punk he's not going to have Paul Orndorff to sort him out... instead I'll be the one giving him the lesson in old school wrestling. Now as much as Orndorff is one of the toughest men I know, he's a little bit restricted as a trainer because the best lessons of all are taught in competitive situations, inside the ring and in real matches. Now at Summerslam CM Punk better pay attention because it's all for his benefit... the beating he takes might seem harsh, but he can learn from it if he chooses. However, if he makes the wrong choice and continues to disrespect me and disrespect old school wrestling then he will be forced to HAIL TO THE KING OF OLD SCHOOL. ' 'OLD SCHOOL BELIEVER' JACK VICTORY: ' Haha... High Spot, Steve.' Steve Corino and Jack Victory high spot as they move away out of the training hall and the picture fades to the XWF logo before fading to black.
