"
When did wrestling stop being entertaining? Why did wrestling stop
being the focus of the WWE? Why are TNA only too happy too follow the WWE's
lead? Why is there no real alternative?
"
Those are some of
the biggest questions that plague the minds of both some of
those inside the wrestling industry and some of the sport's fans.
They long for a return of entertainment... and not in the form of
over the top gimmicks and costumes or laughable, comic storylines...
they don't want today's 'sports entertainment'. Instead they want to
be entertained by athletes and professionals inside the ring... they
want to see wrestling entertainment. An old school concept perhaps,
but a concept that still has it's place in today's wrestling
business. Sadly, however there doesn't seem to be much of a place
for it in the WWE... the flagship company in the wrestling industry.
While there are those with talent it appears that the likes of Vince
McMahon are solely concerned with who's face sells the most tickets.
The same can now also be said of TNA, a company with so much
potential yet they wish to instead focus on the past. It's clear
that TNA is no alternative. So, where does that leave the wrestling
business... can anyone provide us with a return to wrestling
entertainment?
While there are
those who claim that Ring of Honour offers true wrestling
entertainment it is clear that they are not a major force in the
industry. What is needed is a fresh, new promotion with serious
financial power as well as a talented roster. To many that may seem
like a dream but one man isn't far from making it a reality. A
mystery businessman simply calling himself an entrepreneur with a
passion for wrestling entertainment is set to unveil his new
promotion, the Evolution of Wrestling Entertainment. This company
may very well be the saviour of wrestling entertainment, promising
an evolution in the industry... taking wrestling forward to a new
stage of being that none had imagined. With such potential and
finances it hasn't taken long for a number of top wrestlers to sign
EWE contracts. They haven't all came for the same reasons though...
some are simply sick of being held back and believe that they
deserve their time in the spotlight while others wish to prove
themselves against the best athletes in the wrestling industry.
