Breakdown: Eight Man Tag Match. MARK JINDRAK THE MARK OF EXCELLENCE
But, tag-team wrestling does not need to be the be all and end all... a
man of Jindrak's abilities is more than capable of combining a reign as
Tag-Team champion with a successful singles career. In fact, the
combination of singles and tag-team glory will inevitably lead to
Jindrak receiving the utmost recognition, it will lead, one day, to him
becoming one of APW's alumni... a Hall of Famer. You'd be a foolish man
to claim that there's any reason why such a complete athlete like Mark
Jindrak will not in the future command a place in the APW Hall of Fame.
Still, that is the long term future, looking directly ahead Mark Jindrak
will be in tag-team action alongside Mike Sanders as well as Jeff
Jarrett and Sean O'Haire as they battle the team of Triple H, Randy
Orton, Edge and Christian. It would appear that is could be the perfect
opportunity for Jindrak to display his full potential and to make sure
that he is recognised as one of the APW's rising stars. Jindrak is
certainly an ambitious man and if everything follows his plan then he'll
be stepping up to singles competition and proving why he now calls
himself the Reflection of Perfection. The APW logo fades up as the cameras cut live to a shot of a relatively quiet urban street. The sun shines overhead as the camera glances around the area and text appears at the bottom of the screen saying, Tampa Bay, Florida, the location for this Thursday's Breakdown. The camera soon settles on the figures of Mark Jindrak and Mike Sanders strolling down the street. Jindrak has a new found swagger in his step, one that almost matches Mike's. Jindrak grins as he turns to Mike and begins to chat. [ Mark Jindrak ] " So this Thursday I get my chance back in the ring... and in Breakdown's main event no less. This is just what I've been waiting for. " [ Mike Sanders ] " That's what I like to hear Jindrak... you've been sounding a little more confident lately and you know you should be confident. You're a tag-team champion, a member of the Natural Born Thrillers and you've got Mike Sanders to back you up... there isn't a reason not to be confident. Although at Breakdown I think you'd be better standing aside, letting the big boys deal with Orton, HHH and Edge and Christian. " [ Mark Jindrak ] " Haha... well we want to win the match don't we? The best chance of us winning is if I'm the man in the middle of the ring, 'cause you see I've really improved lately... just look at me, I'm every bit the perfect superstar. Just watch me at Breakdown, I'm at the top of my game and I'm going to prove it to you and to everyone else in the APW. " Mike gives Jindrak a bit of a strange look, he's not exactly acting like his usual self. The two men continue down the street and as Mike moves to cross the road Jindrak comes to an abrupt stop by the side of a parked car. He who looks slightly peculiar, standing by the edge of the sidewalk, peering in at the car or possibly staring at his reflection in the wing mirror. Jindrak then adjusts his head, checking himself out from every possible angle, and then begins to fiddle with his hair. Just then Mike Sanders doubles back having been halfway across the road, moving into the camera shot with an even more puzzled look on his face. [ Mike Sanders ] " .... What the hell are you doing Jindrak? It looks like you're about to break into that car. " [ Mark Jindrak ] " Sorry I got a little caught up there in my reflection... you see I've just realised something... I truly have the perfect body, look at it, have you ever laid your eyes upon something quite so spectacular? "[ Mike Sanders ] " Haha, well just you remember who it was that forced you to sweat it out at five in the morning to get you back into shape. " [ Mark Jindrak ] " Back into shape... I'm not just back in shape. As you'd put it yourself I'm above average... actually, I'd word it a little bit differently... I'd say I was the personification of excellence. Other men simply don't compare to myself... you can walk into all the gyms in this city or you can scour the beaches here in Tampa Bay and I promise you, you won't find any man who looks anywhere near as phenomenal as myself. " [ Mike Sanders ] " Whoa, Whoa, Whoa... you're getting a tad carried away there, Jindrak. If you haven't forgotten I look pretty damn good myself and I've backed that up by winning my fair share of matches in the APW. So before you go around saying you're above average, remember that you've got to prove yourself in the ring... 'cause otherwise you might come across as a bigheaded asshole. " [ Mark Jindrak ] " A big-headed asshole eh? I know one of them myself and he you didn't look too good when Billy Kidman pinned him last Thursday night. It was hardly an above average performance. " [ Mike Sanders ] " I think I might have to walk away in a minute before I do something I'll regret. For now I'll assume you've caught a little too much sun down here, 'cause something's messing with your head. " Mike Sanders shakes his head and walks away out of the camera shot while Mark Jindrak looks slightly annoyed, gritting his teeth before returning to stare at his reflection in the wing mirror. [ Mark Jindrak ] " You know I shouldn't really be too harsh on Mike. I do respect him as an athlete and one who's been pretty impressive at times but I think even he knows that he can't quite match up to myself... he simply pales in comparison. In fact, I think Mike might be a little bit jealous... it's nothing to be ashamed of, after all he's far from the only man who would look at my beautiful face or my perfect abs and wish that he could be quite so perfect. You see for most men the quest for perfection is sadly a futile pursuit, they may wish and fantasise all they want but it's not going to help... they'll never be perfect. There are of course rare exceptions to that rule... I am clearly one such exception. From head to toe you won't find a fault with my body... I've done what all other men cannot... I've achieved perfection. I might not have demonstrated it yet but believe me this perfect body produces perfect results in the ring too. I am able to tower above other men and physically dominate them... on Thursday night I'll be standing across from supposedly some of the APW's top superstars and that's exactly my opportunity, my chance, to show what the new and improved Mark Jindrak can do inside the ring. " Jindrak moves away from the wing mirror after a final glance. He then stands up tall and flashes his pearly white teeth as he grins and turns to the camera. [ Mark Jindrak ] " The men I will stand alongside have all received some praise lately. Everyone was going on about Jarrett and O'Haire's performances in the elimination match, Jeff even won himself the North American title, which O'Haire gets a shot at at Crash Burn. Isn't that great? Hmm... well, personally I really couldn't care less what Jarrett or O'Haire had achieved... I don't care if I'm partnering a couple of morons or some of the best in the business... I can do all the work myself if I need to. Oh, wait a second, I almost forgot my final partner, Mike Sanders, the man who gets all the attention and all the glory for being part of the tag-team champions. Yet in reality he's the man who everybody fails to realise is only a tag-team champion because of his partner, his partner is the man who's really putting in the effort and making sure they keep the title belts. Well luckily enough Mike will have his partner, myself Mark Jindrak, by his side yet again, so he doesn't need to worry... he can get yet another victory thanks to my own work. Then again, maybe Mike, Jarrett and O'Haire could handle HHH, Randy Orton and Edge and Christian by themselves... it's not exactly a tough task for someone of my stature, putting me up against those four. " Jindrak quickly checks himself over in the car wing mirror, and with everything looking perfect he turns back to the camera. [ Mark Jindrak ] " They're all quite simply the height of imperfection... yet surprise, surprise, here in the APW they've made it up to the main event. Randy Orton is a boy with a dreams of fulfilling his destiny... or some nonsensical crap like that, well he certainly has dreams that one day he'll be APW Heavyweight champion. Now for some reason Randy's dreams weren't totally crushed after his humiliating defeat at the hand of some stoner at Steel Punishment, so maybe if I add to his humiliation with yet another embarrassing defeat he'll realise that he's no superstar and he'll instead just content himself with being one of the nobodies of this world... just blending into the imperfect masses. Now standing next to Randy will be the big nose himself, HHH, seriously though he could at least get some surgery done on that thing... like I said it's only natural to desire perfection. Big nose or not there's bigger problems for Hunter just now, he's got himself all mixed up with DX... isn't that a bit old these days? If HHH is going to even have a hope of challenging the new, upcoming talent like myself he'll have to start living in the present and forget about DX and those memories of past success. Partnering HHH and Orton isn't something I'd wish upon anybody to be honest but somebody's got to do it and the unlucky guys are Edge and Christina. Haha... couldn't wish it upon nice guys eh? Well I'm really looking forward to wiping the smug grins off those two clowns faces, they got up in my face backstage a few times and it's about time somebody gave them a good closed fist or two. Mike certainly didn't have it in him at the time so instead I'll take care of those two this Thursday night. Jindrak then takes a few steps back into the middle of the sidewalk and begins to walk slowly along the quiet street, with no sign of Mike Sanders at all. [ Mark Jindrak ] " At Breakdown it'll be four on four, eight bodies in the ring and undoubtedly a hell of a lot action going on. I wouldn't be surprised to see it all break down into a street fight with guys going at it right, left and centre, but in the midst of all the carnage and chaos something, someone will stand out... that someone will be me. People will go home from Breakdown and they won't talk about Randy Orton or Jeff Jarrett, hell they won't even mention the name Mike Sanders, they'll be far too busy talking about me. You see I don't just plan on picking up a win for the team or helping out those other guys so they can add another win to their records... I'll be wrestling as an individual, wrestling so that I'm the man who picks up the win and makes a major impact in APW. I want recognition for my own abilities and the best way to do that is to forget about team work and do all the hard work myself. I'll be more than happy to go four on one against Triple H, Randy Orton, Edge and Christian and take each of those four men down. Then it'll be my name that rings out around the arena as the winner... that should make a few head turns and that should make a few people get up off their seats... 'cause the people at home and here in Tampa Bay will have had an epiphany, they will have had a realisation, that the man they just saw dominate Orton, HHH, Edge and Christian is the reflection of perfection... and the future of the APW. They might not know exactly what they've seen, so I'll tell you beforehand, that's the mark... "
Jindrak smirks and walks off down the street with that same cocky strut we
saw earlier as the APW logo fades up before the shot fades to black. |
