Breakdown: Fatal Four Way
After a short spell in England, All Pro Wrestling is back in the
good ole' USA, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania to be exact for Thursday
Night's Breakdown. This Thursday night will surely be eventful with
a number of fresh rivalries and feuds emerging, one that has
certainly caught the eye is JBL's feud with World Champion Rob Van
Dam. JBL is going to every length possible to destroy the champion,
getting RVD placed in a handicap match against the Basham Brothers
with Orlando Jordan as the Special Guest Referee... in what's sure
to be a fair contest. There are a further three spots up for grabs
in the Loaded Gun tournament, the three lucky winners will find
themselves in the Second Round of the competition alongside Mike
Sanders who at last week's Breakdown eased to victory over Stone
Cold Steve Austin. This week Mike continues in singles action in a
Fatal Fourway match against some of the toughest guys in APW, X-Treme
Champion Raven,
former X-Treme Champion
Billy Kidman and Steel Punishment main-eventer Randy Orton. It's
match that an average guy might well gawk at, but then again Mike
Sanders is no average guy.
The APW logo fades up and the camera shows a cloudy sky overhead
with the sun just starting to try and push it's way in front of
those clouds. Early morning birds are also beginning to stir and
chirp as the camera shot moves down to show a small athletics
stadium with a 400m track running around a central athletics field,
there are also some small stands for spectators. It appears that there's very little going on with most people
obviously still tucked up in bed, not thinking about going running,
but the scene is not totally quiet. Mike Sanders is walking along
the side of the track wearing some
casual clothes and his traditional sunglasses while Mark Jindrak is
jogging in the middle of the track, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt
and a grey pair of jogging pants. Jindrak doesn't look to pleased
with his workout and begins to complain... just for a change.
'Average'
Mark Jindrak:
"
This is ridiculous, Mike... when you said you were going to be
keeping me match fit I never agreed to anything like this. I mean
Jesus Christ, it's 5 in the morning! When the hell will I ever be
wrestling at this sort of time? "
'Above
Average' Mike
Sanders:
" It's all about preparation... if you're ready to go at this time
then you'll be more than ready when you've got to step into the
ring. You know this is for your benefit and for mine... if you stay
fit then we stay Tag-Team champions.
"
'Average'
Mark Jindrak:
"
Hmm... well you're still the one up against Raven, Randy Orton and
Billy Kidman.. I'd say it's you who needs to be running around at
the crack of dawn. "
'Above
Average' Mike
Sanders:
" Look, just get going... I don't want to have to chase you around
this damn track.
"
Jindrak sighs and appears to say
something under his breath as he begins to jog away from Mike
Sanders and round the track. Mike then begins to leisurely stroll
along the side of the track as the camera moves alongside him
showing him with a wide shot. After a few moments Mike turns to the
camera
'Above

Sanders:
" Jindrak might
not always be 100% reliable and I might have to make sure he stays
fit enough to defend the titles but... as long as I keep an eye on
him, I know he won't let me down. I'm happy to admit that makes me a
little more comfortable because I look around the APW I don't think
there's a guy out there that could partner me in the ring. Jindrak
certainly isn't perfect, in fact he's pretty average, but at least
he's not below average like the rest of the locker room... and I
tell you those guys are way below average, they're not up to my
standards. I've experienced it first hand, week after week seeing
how little the APW has to offer and week after week I embarrass
another supposed 'superstar'... it's getting beyond a joke. I
admitted that I did slip up back when things kicked off here in the
APW but I just needed to shake off the cobwebs... and it's damn
obvious that I've shed those cobwebs 'cause I've gone five matches
undefeated, I've became a Tag-Team champion and I've progressed in
the Loaded Gun tournament. It's getting to be a pretty impressive
record. "
Just then Mark Jindrak comes
running back round the corner, it appears he's just ran a couple of
laps of the track As he runs past he calls out to Mike Sanders.
'Average'
Mark Jindrak:
"
I'm too tired to do this Mike, why don't we just come back later...
my body isn't awake yet. "
'Above
Average' Mike
Sanders:
" I don't want to hear you're excuses. Just keep going and feel
the burn, Jindrak... Haha.
"
Mike chuckles to himself as
Jindrak looks increasingly annoyed yet continues to run around
the track. Mike then moves away from the side of the track and sits
halfway up one of the small stands by the side of the track.
'Above

Sanders:
" Now this Thursday night at Breakdown I face off against some
of the guys who have managed to gain a little success in the APW...
it should be one of my toughest tests yet, apparently. I say
apparently cause' I'm not buying it... as far as I can tell
Thursday night shouldn't be any different from my usual Thursday
Night... that means notching up another win against some more of
the APW's 'superstars'. I'm going to be staring across at Raven,
Billy Kidman and Randy Orton... guys who've done big things in the
APW. You've got a former X-Treme, the current X-Treme Champion and
the man who finished second in the World Title Royal Rumble, but
those achievements don't mean a thing to me... winning matches and
succeeding in the APW doesn't mean a thing to me. I've said it
before the quality around here is pathetic and I couldn't care less
if one below average guy like Raven managed to beat some other below
average like Billy Kidman. If anybody is going to be tested at
Breakdown it's Raven, Kidman and Orton... they're all yet to face
off against a truly phenomenal, above average wrestler like myself.
They've only proved that they're some of the best of a very bad
bunch, it's really not much to brag about... or in Raven's case crow
about. "
Mike smirks
a little at his own comment before glancing up and across the
running track to see Jindrak still jogging round and still not
looking too pleased.
'Above

Sanders:
" Now personally I'm not a fan of Fatal Fourways... there's
every possibility that I could lose the match without being pinned,
and let's face it, if there's anyway I'm going to lose this match it
won't be me getting pinned. Still I just don't like to take risks,
especially when I know that I could
walk all over Raven, Kidman or Orton in a singles match... I'll even
stand head and shoulders above those three in
this Fatal Fourway but there's still that chance that I could be
screwed out of a victory. I guess I'll just have to focus on getting
a quick win, and in the process showing how some of APW's finest
are simply pathetically below average. In fact, I'll be more than happy to show how little the APW X-Treme
title means when I tear apart the X-Treme champion Raven and former
X-Treme champion Billy Kidman... you see I'm not an extreme
wrestler, I'm not a hardcore wrestler... instead I'm above hardcore
wrestling. I win matches not by taking a steel chair to somebody's
head or smacking them over the back with a trash can, but by
actually using the true tools of wrestling, my own technical skills.
Raven and Kidman lack any sort of real wrestling ability, like so many of these supposedly 'extreme wrestlers. As far as I can
tell 'extreme' wrestling is not a true form of wrestling, it is only
for those who can't cut it inside the ring in normal competition...
they rely on what would usually be considered cheating and playing
dirty... says a guy who always plays by the rules, Haha. But,
seriously I prefer my wrestling matches to be straight up and I
think we'll see at Breakdown that Raven and Billy Kidman can't cope
when they're tested in a real wrestling match against an above
average competitor like myself. "
Mike smiles
and looks up at the sky where the sun is now bursting through the
clouds. Mike then takes another look at Jindrak who appears to be a
little out of breath now and is retrieving a bottle of water from
the side of the track before continuing on his run.
'Above
Average' Mike
Sanders:
" People would say that the favourite for this match wasn't me...
it's shocking, I know... instead they seem to believe that Randy
Orton has the edge over me. The 'Legend Killer' is apparently the
favourite for the match... this is the man who said it was his
destiny to win the APW Heavyweight title at Steel Punishment... so
much for destiny, huh? Randy Orton has an awful big opinion of
himself, now that's nothing I necessarily have a problem with... but
some people can take things too far. Randy is still learning the
trade, he's feeling his way in this business and he's not the
finished article yet... not by a long shot. It really doesn't matter
to me if he's a third generation superstar, that doesn't give him a
birthright to be an APW champion... he's got to prove himself and
he's got fight his own battles. At Breakdown he'll be out there on
his own and I'll be interested to see how he lives up to the hype...
because for all that's been said I've not seen anything particularly
impressive inside the ring. He claims to be many things, a 'Legend
Killer' for one, but that might be where his problem lies... cause'
I'm no legend. When I hear the word legend I think of a man who was
once a superstar but now is a shadow of his former self and is
simply remembered for his past accomplishments... that certainly
isn't me. I've got plenty still to do in this business and I'm not a
legend quite yet, but maybe when I'm old and grey, when I'm past my
prime, Randy Orton will be able to kill me off... unfortunately for
him what matters at the moment is this Thursday's Breakdown and
there's not a chance in hell that Randy Orton will come close to
killing me off. Instead, Orton will see how much he till has to do
in this business, he'll see the true gulf in class between an above
average athlete like myself and a glorified rookie like him. Randy
Orton, Raven and Billy Kidman will all find out what I mean when I
say I'm above average and they'll also finds out exactly how it
feels to be...

'Above
Average' Mike
Sanders:
" And you know what that means, Haha.
