An NFRRL Divided Will Not Stand

NFRRL 2009 Season Rules

Entry / Cost

The entry cost per team will be $25.  There will be an option to retain your driver from the previous season at a cost of $10 (non top 12 driver) and priced accordingly (top 12 driver) (see price chart below). ***All entry fee must be received prior to the first race or you will be eliminated from the league. No exceptions!***

Teams

Teams will be made up of 1 primary driver and 1 alternate driver. Your primary driver will consist of any driver you have now that you wish to retain from the 2008 season or if you drop your driver, a driver that you acquire through the 2009 draft or 2009 free agency will be on your team. Your alternate driver could possibly change from week to week. The weekly draft order will go in reverse order of the current SBGP order (last to first). You will be responsible for contacting me by phone or email, with your weekly alternate driver pick. You will have until 10pm(EST) Thursday. You will need to go to the Weekly Draft page and see what number is next to your name. Whatever number is next to your name that is how many names you will need to send. If you do not get me your weekly driver picks by the deadline your primary driver points will be divided by 2 to make up your points for the week and you will be given a "no pick" for the week.

Free Agency/Draft

at the end of the 2008 season, you will have the option of retaining your current driver (according to the driver price list) or declaring him a free agent. You will have until December 14, 2008 to make this decision. During this time you either choose to keep your driver and pay the fee or release him into free agency. If you do not notify me of what your decision is at this deadline, then your driver will automatically be release from your team and will be declared a free agent. Then from December 15, 2008 till January 1, 2009 will be the free agent signing period. During this time, all teams who have no driver, will have the opportunity to select any driver available. If more than 1 team bids for the same driver, an auction will take place. The teams can submit their bid on the driver (not to exceed, $10 over the value of that driver). If there is still a tie in the bidding then a random drawing will be conducted to determine who gets the driver.  After this period ends, any team still not having a driver will take part in the 2009 draft. The draft will go in the order of worst to best finish of the previous season. The 2008 draft will take place on January 4, 2009.

Points System

I will take the combined total race points of your 2 drivers and divide them by 2 to get your weekly total points. If your primary or alternate driver gets the pole for the current race you will get 5 bonus points added to your weekly average.

Transaction

Transactions will be $1. You can acquire a new primary driver either through free agency or by trade with another team. If you decide to make a trade with another team it will be voted upon by the other teams in the NFRRL. If the trade has a majority vote for approval, then it will cost both teams involved $1 per team. If the trade gets vetoed by majority vote, then the trade gets nullified. Any tie breakers will be decided by the Commish. All primary driver transactions will also be added to the SBGP. The transaction deadline is August 17, 2009. All transaction requests need to be made to the Commish by 5pm Monday following the previous race day and the transaction will go into effect for the week the request was made (this is to give everyone else time to adjust their draft list).  If two teams attempt to sign a free agent driver during the season, then the team who is lower in the standings will have first selection. If by chance the two teams are tied, then the tiebreaker will be the team with the least wins, then it goes to the team with the least poles. If there is still a tie then the Commish will break the tie by a coin flip.

SBGP / Weekly Winner

The top 3 teams with the most points at the end of the season will win the SBGP with 1st place getting 70% of the pot and the NFRRL trophy will be engraved into the Hall of Champions, 2nd getting 20% and 3rd getting 10%. This will make it more competitive at the end and if you finish in 3rd at least you’ll get your entry fee back plus some. The weekly winner will get $1 from the teams that did not finish the highest for the race. So if either of your drivers finish highest in any race you win for the week.

The Chase for the SBGP

For the final 10 races, all teams within 400 points of the leader will go on to The Chase for the SBGP. The points will be reset (5000) just like in the Sprint Cup.  You will receive an additional 5 points per win that will be added to your 5000 points.  The order for the final 10 races will be determined by the number of wins first, tiebreaker will be the number of poles then default to points. (So this means if your in first when the chase starts and you have 3 wins and the 3rd place team has 5 wins then the person in 3rd moves up to first). If you do not make the cut then you will be eliminated from competing for the SBGP. If you are eliminated your drivers will be released into the free agent pool and you will not have to pay any more $$ for the remainder of the year, but you get to keep whatever money you won and the rights to that driver. So once you’re done, you’re done for the year. Once again call me if you don't understand this.

Penalties

When a teams primary is penalized by NASCAR then the penalties will be accessed as follows: 5 NFRRL points for every 25 NASCAR points. Also, if you have 3 weeks of "no picks" then you will be suspended for 1 week of picks. Any no picks after the 3 week maximum then you will be eliminated from the league.
