1. Faith and faith

The most important idea in this section was the idea of both faith and Faith. I think that Faith and faith have very similar definitions, that involve the 4 characteristics of Biblical faith. My definition of faith is-A loving trust in someone or something that has been tempered and tested over time, it involves both trust and belief, and has periods of darkness and doubt, there is a risk involved at times, and it is not easy. The only difference in my definition for Faith is that you substitute God for someone or something. This to me is the most important idea in this section of the course because it seems that we’ve been focusing on it, and it is crucial to every human everywhere, I think everyone needs to have faith in something to stay sane. To me, a life without at least some faith in your family, friends, teachers, or classmates, would be a grim and sad life. The idea of Faith is important to me because I sometimes have problems with my Faith and I sometimes have problems with my religious practices and the more I can learn about each the better and more completely I will be able to resolve these problems.

2. Important Ideas

The two most important idea to me in this chapter are the ideas of Faith as a Grace , and that Faith requires a human response. They are important to me because they seem to come hand in hand. While Faith being a Grace from God is his gift to us and helps us believe and trust in him and love him, it also requires a human response from us. We have to accept his love and his gift in order to truly have Faith, though his Grace is always there for us to accept. This idea is best expressed in a newspaper article in our classroom that’s headline reads, “God is where we let God in,” that title hints that God with his Grace is everywhere, but that we, as humans, must repond to his love and Grace for it to truly be a strong Faith.

3. Representation of faith

The picture below is of Anne Frank because to me she is a remarkable example of great faith. Despite having to hide in her attic while the entire life she knew was taken away by the ,Nazis , who were persecuting everyone of Anne Frank's religion, she still believed that people were good. That to me is remarkable becuase her faith in people's goodness endured hardship and pain and required an unfaltering trust and belief in her family and in people in general.

4. Is f/Faith in the church Faith or faith?

To me it is faith because the Church , is led by humans on earth, and has committed many evils in the past such as the inquisition. I think trust and belief in the Church is faith because it is flawed and is not always acting out God’s plan on earth becaue it is impossible to know entirely what God’s plan is. So if you were to put Faith in the Church and the Church turned out to be wrong, it would be as if God was wrong, and that is impossible.
