~* Emails From Heaven *~

This site is created In Loving Memory of my Lil' Angel,
Carleigh Lauryn Grace
(November 8, 1999 to April 8, 2000)
and her Lil' Angel friend,
Emma Valarie Philippe
(September 22, 1999 to May 1, 2000)

"Theme From Forrest Gump"

On November 8, 1999, I gave birth to an angel.
Her name was Carleigh Lauryn Grace
and she blessed my life immensely for five months.

On April 8, 2000, she went to Heaven.
She left behind many family members and friends,
which included her Daddy, me (her Mommy),
and her big brother, Blake, age 2 1/2.

During the same time, in a faraway place called France,
a similar situation was happening to another family.

Emma Valarie Philippe was born on September 22, 1999.
She blessed her parents' lives for seven months.
On May 1, 2000, she too went to Heaven.
She left behind her Mommy, Daddy,
and her big sister, Chloe, age 2 1/2.

Carleigh and Emma both had a chromosome disorder called "Trisomy 18".
Both girls had three copies of chromosome 18,
when normally, there are only two copies.

Our families were told that Trisomy 18 is "incompatible with life"
and yet, our daughters had enough strength and courage
to beat the odds and be able to spend time on Earth with us.

Losing Carleigh has been hard on John and me.
Losing Emma has been equally hard on Fred and Allyson.
Though we are learning to cope,
things remain extremely hard on Blake and Chloe.
Being two years old, they do not understand why their sisters are gone.
They are not sure where they went.
They don't understand why they can't come back.

And so began the idea of "Emails From Heaven".

On May 15, 2000, the first Email From Heaven was sent.
It was addressed to little Chloe from a very special sender:
Emma Angel in Heaven.

Hopefully each email Chloe receives will aid in helping Chloe understand.
Hopefully it will help her with her grief.
Hopefully Chloe will return to being the happy little girl she once was.
