It is updated so frequently it's better than the official site for news. Check out videos, join contests from around the world, take the "TheOneRing.net Insta Poll," and just get lost in the masses of "LOTR" information available to eager fans. Newly featured are interviews with cast members, currently users can download an interview with John Rhys-Davies (Gimli) and come back soon for an interview with Sir Ian McKellen

This site is a constant work in progress; the encyclopedia is constantly being fattened up. Though this encyclopedia is intended to be illustrated, the illustrations are few and far between. Nonetheless, the thoroughness of this site is jaw dropping. Maps are also on hand to help users navigate through middle earth and beyond.

*CABED-EN-ARAS* This good-looking, well-organized fan site delivers fresh material to its loyal fans. Even if it's not fresh, some of the things on this site are quite interesting, including the last interview with J.R.R. Tolkien from January 1971. As if that wasn't enough, take a look at the massive art gallery with works from over seven different artists. Speak up on the message board; although the posters seem quite familiar with each other, new blood is always welcome. Before leaving peruse the Tolkien shop, where every type of fan is sure to find something they have to have. *J.R.R TOLKIEN IN OXFORD* If you want to find out more about the man who started it all, look no further than this site, which revolves around the life of "Lord of the Rings" author, J.R.R. Tolkien. Tolkien's alphabet page helps fans decipher and translate some of his work from "The Hobbit," in which he constructs a form of a written language. The section titled, "Tolkien as a student" will surely fascinate any fan.
