COUNTRY CHURCH

Once I was alone and lonely

and didn't know where I was bound

so I went into a country church

and there the answer found

a preacher was preaching with fire in his eyes

and to me he began to tell

about a place of eternal suffering

about a place that God calls hell

I could tell by the look on the preachers face

that the fire was burning hot

it was a deep and dark and Godless place

where the worm dieth not

But then he said if you've accepted Jesus

and asked Him to come into your heart

praise God for John. 3:16 you've got a brand new start

when I heard those words my heart began to pound

and my vision began to waive

I slid to the alter on my knee's

and asked the Lord to be saved

Now I'm no longer alone and lonely

for I've found a brand new friend

He's my Lord and savior Jesus Christ

and He will stand by me till the end

I thank you God for that old country church

and for the preacher with the fire in his eye's

and I thank you God for Jesus

with Him some day I'll rise

and he will stand by me till the end
