The
Seasons Of My Life:
In
the spring of my life, I met my Marine
He
was tall and strong, every girls dream.
He
was a Vietnam Vet with the memories of war
But
in the spring of my life all I could see,
Was
the love he had for me?
In
the spring of my life he ask me to marry.
I
still knew not the memories he carried.
They
came at night to scream and cry,
“Oh
Why Oh Why did I not die”
Go
away, I would cry; for I am the reason,
…he
is mine now,...
Quiet
my love go back to sleep,
the
watch is now mine to keep.
In
the summer of my life our children came.
Two
beautiful girls God sent to bless our lives.
Still
the memories came to scream and cry.
“Lets
move” my Vet would say.
We
can leave them far behind,
…but
still they came...
To
push and crowd into our lives.
And
I new the watch was still mine to keep
In
the summer of my life back to back we stood
And
many a battle was fought.
My
Vet and I watched our children grow.
To
learn the truths that we had taught.
The
memories still came,
…but
fainter now,...
But
I new the watch was still mine to keep
Its
now the fall of my life with my Vet.
35
years have come and gone since we met
Years
filled with laughter and love
4
beautiful grandchildren sent from God above.
It’s
the fall of my life with my Marine.
Memories
still come but with them a peace.
For
in these fall years he has found a release
It
came through a club of brothers and sisters
For
now as I stand the watch for my love.
I
have company sent from God above
What
will the winter of my life bring?
......Only
my Lord knows these things…...
