Viet-freakin-Nam

Been rolling down highway One

Tryin’ to find myself

Livin’ my life one day at a time

Stowing dreams up on a shelf

Been lookin’ high and been lookin’ low

For a place to settle down

But nuthin’ can top the adrenalin rush

Since I was classified Dinky dau

Went to Nam when I was a kid

Grew up way to damn fast

Old Uncle Sam he forgot to explain

How long this old war would last

Couldn’t drown my sorrows in Budweiser beer

Or ease the pain with sweet Mary Jane

And I can’t count on all my fingers or toes

How many nights I slept in the rain

I pissed away too many years an’ too many beers

Beyond a shadow of a doubt

And I only play well with my Vietnam brothers

They romp in the same psychological draught

But I’ll keep lookin high and keep lookin’ low

Searching for that sweet Promised Land

But I ain’t found nuthin’ to rock my world

Like Viet- freakin’ – Nam

But I ain't found nuthin to rock my world

Like Viet - freakin' – Nam
