Autumn Forest
Needed: Jasc/Corel Paint Shop Pro. Tube of Choice - For this tutorial, I used a delightful pay to use tube image created by Suzanne Woolcott. You can now purchase Suzanne Woolcott's Gorjuss graphics at her online store, located here. Simple Filters. We will be using the Pizza Slice Mirror filter. Supplies: Included in the zip are: Basic autumn forest template (AF temp) made by me, Forest Autumn jpg from Microsoft Clipart Media, autumn leaves from Microsoft Clipart Media, tubed, modified and colorized by me. Optional - Any additional elements, scraps or papers you wish to include. I add this because you may want to substitute and use your own elements. Remember, tuts are just guides - the finished product with your creativity, is yours. SETTINGS USED IN THIS TUTORIAL Magic Wand: Mode: Add/Shift, Match Mode: RGB Value, Tolerance 0, Contiguous checked, Feather: 0, Anti-Alias checked and outside selected Drop Shadow: Vertical Offset 2, Horizontal Offset 2, Opacity 80, Blur 5, Color Black Step 1 Open the AF temp file. Go to Effects/Plugins/Simple/Pizza Slice Mirror. This is your basic template. If you want to keep this as a template, click the Shift and D keys to duplicate and save for future use. Step 2 Open the Forest Autumn jpg. Make the tag template active and go to Adjust/Hue and Saturation/Colorize and select an autumn color that will coordinate with the Forest Autumn picture. Step 3 After colorizing, go to Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and use the settings from above. Step 4 Make the Forest Autumn jpg active and go to Edit/Copy. Left click the magic wand using the settings from above, and left click the magic wand inside the interior portion of the template. Go to Edit/Paste As New Layer. Step 5 Go to Selections/Invert and click the delete key. Go to Selections/Select None. Step 6 Left click the dropper tool and left click on one of the vibrant autumn colors so that it appears in the top color box at the Material Palette. This color will surround the forest autumn picture. Step 7 Left click the magic wand and left click on the transparency surrounding the Forest Autumn picture. Go to Selections/Modify Expand 12. Step 8 Go to Layers/New Raster Layer and flood fill the selection with the color you selected in Step 6. Go to Selections/Select None. Step 9 Go to Layers/Arrange/Move Down. Go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. Step 10 Go to Layers/New Raster Layer and flood fill with white. Go to Layers/Arrange/Send to bottom so that the white layer is below the tag. Step 11 Open the autumn leaves psp file and you will see five different colors. Copy and paste these leaves beneath the tag. You can flip them or mirror or flip and mirror them as I have done. That's up to the way you like them placed. Step 12 Copy and Paste two different color leaves to the top left and right corners of the tag. Resize them but not too small so that you can add your text and copyright information to both leaves. Step 13 Add your main tube image. Resize as necessary and add a drop shadow as you did in Step 3. Step 14 Save the tag as a psp file. You can resize later, if you wish. Step 15 Add your text, go to Layers/Merge/Merge all (flatten) and save as a jpg. We hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
