Jasc/Corel's Paint Shop Pro any version. 

Tubes of Choice (2).  The tube images I am using are commercially licensed images created by Joel Adams and licensed through CILM.  CILM stands for Creative Image Licensing and Management and it is through CILM that you can purchase Joel Adams delightful images in full or tube form as well as images from many other outstanding artists. 

Most of my fun graphics offered in my tutorials are provided by Microsoft Clipart Media which are then made into tubes.  This is a wonderful source of free graphics.

Accessories - Loaf of Bread, Slice of Bread, Saying, "Man Cannot Live by Bread Alone," and animated eyes created by me.

Optional Scrap Element, Preset Shape or brushes for additional design decoration.

Please remember, when creating your signature tags, to only use permission art and to apply the copyright information on the tag.  If  you have purchased a commercial image, do add your license number as well.

**When creating your Signature tags with Paint Shop Pro, do remember to save continually.  Nothing worse than to use up your memory resources and lose everything!**

SETTING USED IN THIS TUTORIAL

Magic Wand:

Mode: Add/Shift, Match Mode: RGB Value, Tolerance +/-30, Contiguous checked, Feather: 0, Anti-Alias checked and outside selected. 

Drop Shadow Setting:

Vertical Offset 2, Horizontal Offset 2, Opacity 80 Blur 5, Color Black

 

CREATING THE TAG

Step 1

Open up a new transparent image 800 width by 500 height, open up the tube images you will be using and the psp image with the saying, "Man Can Not Live by Bread Alone."  Select a prominent color that works well with your tube images that will be used for your text saying.  This color should be in the top color box at the Material Palette.

Step 2

Make the text image active and go to Edit/Copy.  Make your transparency active and go to Edit/Paste as New Layer.  Left click the mover tool, and move the Saying up to the top and of the transparency. Center the text saying.

Step 3

Left click the magic wand and use the settings from above.  With the magic wand, left click inside each of the letters of the saying to select them. Left click the flood fill tool and flood fill the text with the color you selected in Step 1.  DO NOT DESELECT.Go to Selections/Select/None.

Step 4

Go to Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and use the settings from above.  Go to Selections/Select None.

Step 5

Open up the bread loaf and the slice of bread and copy and paste them to your tag. Copy the way I did it above.

Step 6

Open up your two tube graphics and copy and paste them on your piece of bread and on your loaf on separate layers.  If the images are too large, go to Image/Resize, using the percent option, bicubic and resize all layers checked.

Step 7

Apply the same drop shadow as you did in Step 4 to  your tube graphics.

Step 8

Apply your text on a separate layer and again apply the same drop shadow as you did in Step 4.

Step 9

Apply your copyright information.

Step 10

Optional - add any additional scrap element, tube or brushes to your tag for additional decoration. Do not fill in the blank bread loaf portion - we will be adding eyes there in animation shop.

Step 11

Go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible.

Step 12

Go to Image/Resize using the percent option at 80%, bicubic and resize all layers checked. Save the tag as a psp or psd file.
