DECORATIVE FRAME TAG
Supplies Jasc/Corel's Paint Shop Pro. Toadies Band Supressing Noise Filter (Optional) Supplies to Download. This file contains the picture frame, ribbon and doodle, all created by me. Tube of Choice - For this tutorial, I used a delightful image created by Suzanne Woolcott. You can purchase her wonderful art in tube and full form at AMI which stands for Artistic Minds, Inc.
SETTING USED IN THIS TUTORIAL
Drop Shadow: Vertical Offset 2, Horizontal Offset 2, Opacity 80, Blur 5, Color Black Step 1 Open up your tube graphic and the picture frame, and a new transparent image 550 width by 550 height. Step 2 Make the picture frame active and go to Image/Resize using the percent option at 90%, bicubic and resize all layers NOT checked. Step 3 Once the picture frame is resized go to Edit/Copy. Make the tag image active and go to Edit/Paste as New Layer. Step 3 Left click the selection tool, set to rectangle and draw a selection on the inside white area of the frame, making sure the selection is below the white portion that is surrounding the frame opening. Step 3 Make your tube graphic active and go to Edit/Copy. Make the tag graphic active and go to Edit/Paste as New Layer. Left click the mover tool and move the tag image within the selection. You only want a portion of the image, not the entire image. If the image is too large, resize the image the same way you resized the picture frame in Step 2. Step 4 Go to Selections/Invert. Click the delete key and go to Selections/Select None. Go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. Step 5 Open up the doodle graphic. You will see it is gray that is because you will colorize it to whatever color works with your graphic. To colorize go to Adjust/Hue and Saturation/Colorize and move the sliders until you get the color you want. Step 6 Once the doodle graphic is colorized, go to Edit/Copy. Make the tag image active and go to Edit/Paste as New Layer. Left click the mover tool and place the graphic on the frame. Step 7 Go to Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and use the settings from above. Step 8 Open up the ribbon graphic and colorize it as you did in Step 5 for the doodle graphic. Once colorized, you may want to add additional noise to the ribbon. If so, go to Effects/Image Effects/Toadies/Band Supressing Noise and add some additional noise to the ribbon. Step 9 Move the ribbon underneath the picture and apply the same drop shadow as you did in Step 7. Step 10 Apply you copyright information and go to Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten). Step 11 Left click the crop tool and draw a rectangle around the area you wish to keep, eliminating any excess white canvas. Either double left click inside the rectangle or left click the check mark at the drop ribbon. Save this file as a jpg without the text. This will now be your template. With your template, you can create more tags to share. Step 12 Go to Layers/New Raster Layer, add your text and the same drop shadow as above, but this time, change the black to white. Go to Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten) and save your tag with another name so that your template will still be intact. We hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Purrs, Nikki, Nichie and Sue
