Tube of Choice  -  For this tutorial, I used a delightful image created by Jamie Kidd.  You can purchase her wonderful art in tube and full form through CILM.

Accessories - Mask created by me and silver screw element I included, you can download here.  In the second zip file are the Diva scrap elements created by Clarey which you can download here.  If you love scrapping and collecting scrap graphics, do join Clarey's Yahoo Group,  Bagz of Scraps by clicking here.

Please remember, when creating your signature tags, to only use permission art and to apply the copyright information on the tag.  If  you have purchased a commercial image, do add your license number as well.

**When creating your Signature tags with Paint Shop Pro, do remember to save continually.  Nothing worse than to use up your memory resources and lose everything!**

CREATING THE TAG

Step 1

Open up a new transparent image 700 width by 500 height.  Let's start large to give you plenty of room to add your graphics.  Also open up the texturedweavemask file and the tube image you would like.

Step 2

At the Material Palette, select a deep, solid color for your tag that coordinates with your tube graphic.  Flood fill the transparency with that color.

Step 3

Go to Layers/New Mask Layer/From Image.  At the drop down menu, select textured weave mask, source luminance, and invert mask data checked.

Go to Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten).

You now have the basic tag pattern.

Step 4

Make your tube graphic active.  Left click the selection tool, set to rectangle, and going from left to right and down, draw a selection around the top portion of your tag.  Look at mine above.  You can just do the head, head and neck, or more, depending on how much of the graphic you want to use.

Once you have the selection made, go to Edit/Copy.  Go to Edit/Paste as New Image.

Step 5

With this new image, go to Image/Resize using the percent option at about 150%, Bicubic and Resize all Layers checked.

Now go to Edit/Copy.  Make your tag image active and go to Edit/Paste as New Layer. Paste it in the middle section of your tag.  If the image is too small, you can go ahead and resize it a bit larger.  Or if it is too small, resize it a bit smaller. But when resizing, this time be sure you don't have resize all layers checked.

Another way of doing this is left clicking the deform tool and left clicking on the nodes and pulling the image either up, down, or sideways.

Step 6

Left click the mover tool and center your image.  Open up the Layer/Palette and make sure you are on the layer with the image.  Where you see Normal on the layer palette, click the down arrow and select multiply.  If you want your image to be a bit lighter,  you can move the opacity slider over to your left.  Or if you want a totally different image effect, instead of selecting multiply, try using hard light.

Step 7

Make your full sized tube graphic active and go to Edit/Copy.  Make the tag active and go to Edit/Paste as New Layer.  Resize your image to fit on the tag.

Step 8

Go to Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and use the settings from above.

Step 9

Open up your diva elements and apply those you would like to your tag, resizing where necessary.  If you want to colorize these elements, go to Adjust/Hue and Saturation/Colorize.  If you want to colorize the ribbon, as I have, left click the magic wand using the settings from above and left click it on the ribbon portion only (not the metal portion).  Now colorize and only the ribbon area will be colorized.

Step 10

When you have all your scrap elements added to your tag, go to Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten).

Step 11

Go to Image/Resize using the percent option at 80%, bicubic and resize all layers checked.

Step 12

Go to Layers/New Raster Layer and add your copyright information and licensing information, if applicable, and save this template file as a jpg.  Text has not been added to the tag, in case you want to make multiple tags for others.

Step 13

To add text, go to Layers/New Raster Layer and apply your name with the same drop shadow used in Step 8.  Save this file with another name.

We hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
