Supplies -  Supplies include fire animation, heart template, small heart with arrow, Love is Friendship on Fire Word Art all created by me.  Also included is the fire font called Firecat.

Vertical Offset 2, Horizontal Offset 2, Opacity 80, Blur 5, Color Black

Magic Wand:

Mode: Add/Shift, Match Mode: RGB Value, Tolerance 0, Contiguous checked, Feather: 0, Anti-Alias checked and outside selected.

Step 1

Open a new transparent image 475 width by 600 height, the tube graphic and the heart template.   Make the heart template active and go to Adjust/Hue and Saturation/Colorize and move the sliders over until you come up with a color that coordinates with your tube graphic or a color that you would like for your main tag.

Copy and paste the colorized template on your transparent image.

Step 2

Go to Layers/New Raster Layer and flood fill this layer with a color that will coordinate with the colorized template (this will be your background).

Go to Layers/Arrange/Send Down.

Step 3

Open up your word art file and colorize to coordinate with your tag.

Go to Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and use the settings from above.

Copy and paste the word art to the top of your tag.

Go to Layers/Merge/Merge All (Flatten).

Step 4

Go to Image/Add Borders.  When the border selection window opens, select a color for your border, symmetric checked, and width 10.

Save this file now as a psp or psd  file.

Step 5

Open up Animation Shop and locate the file you just saved. Right click the file, go to duplicate selected and left click. Do this one more time and go to View/Normal Viewing.  You should now have 3 frames. Click the control and A keys to activate all the frames.

Step 6

Open up the fire psp file and go to view normal viewing.  You will see three frames as well.  Click the control and A keys to activate all the frames. Go to Edit Copy.  Make the tag image active and go to the very first frame. Go to Edit/Paste into current frame.  Holding down the left mouse button, place the fire graphic directly at the bottom of the first frame adjacent to the bottom border and release the left mouse button.

SAVING THE TAG PORTION OF THE ANIMATION

Step 1

Before we save this portion of the animation, let's first click the Customize button to make sure you have all the correct settings for this animation.

Click the Customize button and you will see two tabs:  Colors and Optimizations.

Here is what each setting should be under the two separate tabs:

Colors

255 Colors, Optimized Median Cut and Error Diffusion should be checked.

Optimizations

The middle three selections should be checked.

The top and bottom selections - unchecked.

After customizing these animation settings, click Ok and click Next and you will get the following screens:

Screen 1

Animation versus output Size - just click next.

Screen 2

Optimization process - just click next.

Screen 3

Optimization preview - just click next.

Screen 4

Optimization results - click finish.

Step 2

Make sure to save your image as a gif file.

Step 3

Once you have the file saved, left click on the very first frame and go to Edit/Copy. Open up Paint Shop Pro and go to Edit/Paste as New Image. Do leave your animation tag open in animation shop - but for now - we will go back to Paint Shop Pro and later finish up the tag once more in Animation Shop.

ADDING THE REMAINING ELEMENTS IN PAINT SHOP PRO

What we will do now is add all the remaining components of the tag on new layers and use this animation frame only as a reference so we know where to place the remaining PSP elements.

Step 1

Copy and paste your tube graphic to the tag as a new layer.  If the image is too large, go to Image/Resize using the percent option, bicubic and resize all layers checked.

Step 2

Apply the drop shadow, using the same settings as you did before on your tube graphic.

Step 3

Open the small heart with arrow and colorize it to your liking.  Copy and paste the heart with arrow to your tag as a new layer.

Step 4

Open up the Firecat Font and add your name text to the tag.  Apply the same drop shadow as you used before to your text.

Step 5

Add your copyright information.

Step 6

Open up the layer palette, and look for the layer that has the original animation frame.  Make sure you are on that layer and go to Layers/Delete.

Go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible.  You should now have as one layer with your graphic, name text, and heart with arrow.

Step 7

Go to Layers/Duplicate.  Do this one more time.  You should now have three layers.

Step 8

Open up your layer palette and make sure you are on the bottom layer. Left click the magic wand, using the settings from above, and left click the border of the small heart with arrow.

Step 9

Go to Adjust/Add/Remove Noise/Add Noise and use these settings:

Gaussian/46%/Monochrome Checked.

Step 10

Go to the 2nd layer and apply the noise filter two times.

Step 11

Go to the top layer and apply the noise filter three times.

Step 12

Open up the Layer Palette and go back to the bottom layer. This time left click the magic wand inside the heart portion of the small heart with arrow.

Repeat Steps 9, 10 and 11, applying the noise filter to the heart portion this time.

Save this portion of the tag as a psp or psd file.

FINISHING THE TAG IN ANIMATION SHOP

You should already still have the first portion of the tag opened on your Animation Shop desktop. (the portion where you added the fire).

Step 1

Open up the file you just completed in Paint Shop Pro.  Go to View/Normal Viewing and click the Control and A Keys to activate all the frames. Go to Edit/Copy.

Step 2

Make the fire animation tag active (clicking the control and A keys) and go to Edit/Paste into current frame.  Holding down the left mouse button, place the image into the very first frame, exactly where you want it and release the left mouse button.

Step 3

If you want a smaller animation file, go to Animation/Resize Animation, using the percent option, smart size and maintain aspect ratio checked.

Step 4

Repeat the saving process as you did under SAVING THE TAG PORTION OF THE ANIMATION  (Steps 1 and 2). No need to recheck the optimization settings - those will remain as they were.

We hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
