CREATING THE TAG

Step 1

Open up the triple image template and open up the three tubes of choice.

At the Material Palette, we will be using gradients to fill each of the sections of the triple image template using colors that work with each of the images selected.

In the top color box, select a color from your first image.  In the bottom color box select a color from your first image that either is in the same color group (but lighter or darker in shade) or you can select a color from a different color family that coordinates well with the first color you selected.

Left click the top color box and when the color selection window opens up, left click the gradient tab.  For style: select linear, angle and repeats set to 0.

Step 2

Left click the magic wand and use the settings from above. With the magic wand, left click the inside of the first section and flood fill with the gradient in the top color box. But DO NOT DESELECT.

Step 3

Make the first tube image active and go to Edit/Copy.  Make the tag image active and go to Edit/Paste as New Layer.  DO NOT DESELECT.

Step 4

Go to Image/Resize and using the percent option, resize the image UP to 120%, bicubic and resize all layers NOT checked. Left click the mover tool and move the image within the selection.  Do not worry, we do not want the whole image in the selection, just part of the image. DO NOT DESELECT.

Step 5

Go to Selections/Invert, hit the delete key and go to Selections/Select None.

Go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible.

Step 6

Select your second tube image and make it active.   Repeat Steps 1 - 5.

Step 7

Select your third tube image and make it active. Repeat Steps 1-5.

At this point you should have all three of your images placed within all three sections of your template with different color gradients for each section coordinating with your tube images.

Step 8

Open up your accessories that came with the tutorial or select the accessories you wish to use for your tag.  When applying an accessory to each section, you will be colorizing it so that it coordinates with the colors of that section.

To colorize a graphic, you would do the following.

Have the graphic open and active.

In the top color box, select the color you wish to colorize your accessory. Left click the top color box and when the color selection window opens, write down the hue and saturation amounts of the color you selected.

Go to Adjust/Hue and Saturation/Colorize and type in the hue and saturation amounts.  You will get a color close to what you selected.

Step 9

For this step - let's add the stitch to the tag.  Select the layer where you stitch is and close off the other two layers - by left clicking the eye of each layer.

Colorize the stitch (following Step 8) so that it will work with your signature tag.  Go to Edit/Copy.  Make your tag image active and go to Edit/Paste as New Layer.  Left click the mover tool and move the stitch so that it is in between the first and second section (see above).

Go to Layers/Duplicate and move the stitch so that it is now in between the second and third section.

Duplicate the layer again and move the stitch to the bottom of the tag and place it in between the first and second section.  And duplicate the layer one more time and place the stitch in between the second and third section at the bottom of the tag.

Go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible.

Step 10

Open up the flower layer of the accessories and close off the other two layers.  Colorize the flower so it matches the first section of the tag.  Go to Edit/Copy.  Make the tag image active and go to Edit/Paste as New Layer.  Move the flower to the top left corner of the tag.

Go to Layers/Duplicate and move the flower to the top right hand corner of the tag.  Colorize the flower by following Step 8 so that now the flower will match the colorization of the third section of the tag.  Go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible.

Step 11

Open up the bow and colorize it (following the procedure in Step 8). Copy and paste the bow to the bottom of the tag at the left hand corner. Go to Image/Rotate/Free Rotate/Direction Left/Free checked/15 degrees.

Step 12

Go to Layers/Duplicate/Image/Mirror.  Left click the mover tool and move the bow to the right bottom corner of the tag. Colorize the bow to match the third section of the tag by following the procedure in Step 8 above.

Go to Layers/Merge/Merge/Visible.

Step 13

Select one of the tube images you used for your main tag image and go to Edit/Copy.  Make the tag image active and go to Edit/Paste as New Layer. Resize the image so that it fits on the tag by going to Image/Resize using  the percent option, bicubic and resize all layers NOT checked.

Step 14

Go to Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and use the settings from above or use your own favorite drop shadow settings.

Go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible

Step 15

Go to Layers/New Raster Layer and apply your text.  If you wish to add a drop shadow, repeat Step 14 or use your own favorite settings.  On this same layer add your copyright information.

Go to Layers/Merge Merge Visible.

Left click the crop tool and going from left to right and down, draw a rectangle around the areas of the tag you wish to keep, eliminating any transparent portion not used.  Double left click within the rectangle or left click the check mark at the crop ribbon.

Step 16

You can save the tag as is as a jpg or you can resize it smaller by going to Image/Resize using the percent option, bicubic and resize all layers checked.

We hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
