Flower graphic used in my flower line by Rainbow Coffi, as well. The full collection of Rainbow Coffi's awesome images is housed at PSP Playground. Anyone can join, free of charge. Lovely daisy flower tube was shared. SETTINGS USED IN THIS TUTORIAL Magic Wand: Mode: Add/Shift, Match Mode: RGB Value, Tolerance 38, Contiguous checked, Feather: 0, Anti-Alias checked and outside selected. Drop Shadow: Vertical Offset 2, Horizontal Offset 2, Opacity 80, Blur 5, Color Black This tutorial will be in three parts. Part I will show you how to create the frame. If you would rather use the pre-made frame, skip Part I and start at Part II Part II - will show you how to create the tag with your frame. Part III - will show you how to add the animation portion in Paint Shop Pro and completing the tag in Animation Shop. PART I - CREATING THE FRAME Step 1 Open a new transparent image 700 width by 500 height. We will start big and resize later. Have your three tube images open as well so you can select a color for your frame that will work well with all of your tube graphics. At the Material Palette, in the top color box, set it to black. In the bottom color box, set it to a color that will work with all of your tube graphics. Left click the preset shape tool set to rectangle, with solid line, and line width of 5.05. Nothing else should be checked. Going from left to right and down, draw a rectangle that fits within a little less than a third of your transparency, leaving enough room to add graphics and text on the top and bottom. Step 2 Go to Layers/Duplicate. Go to Image/Resize using the percent option at 90%, bicubic and resize all layers NOT checked. Go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. Step 3 Left click the magic wand using the settings from above. Left click the magic wand inside the middle of the frame and hit the delete key. Go to Selections/Select None. Step 4 Go to Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and use the settings from above. Your frame should look like this: Step 5 Go to Layers/Duplicate. Left click the mover tool and move the second layer over. Left click the Raster Deform tool. Holding down the control key, with the left mouse button, left click the right top corner node and move the frame up just a little bit, so it looks like this:
Step 6 Go to Layers/Duplicate and Image/Mirror. Left click the mover tool and move the original frame in the middle and the two frames to either side - as you see in my tag above. If placed exactly as I have them, in the same exact order, all three frames should be the same size. If the middle frame is not the same size as the two side frames, then left click the deform tool and left click either the middle top or middle bottom node and stretch it outward to make it larger or inward to make it shorter. When all three frames are the same height and width, go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. Step 7 Go to Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and use the settings from above. Your frame should look like this: PART II - CREATING THE TAG Step 1 Have your frame psp image on your desktop. (If you are using the pre-made one, go to Adjust/Hue and Saturation/Colorize and by moving the controls, select a color for your frame). Left click the magic wand and left click inside the first frame section. Go to Selections/Modify/Expand 12. Go to Layers/New Raster Layer. Step 2 Flood fill the selection with a color that will coordinate with both your frame and your tube graphic. Go to Layers/Arrange/Move Down, but do not deselect. Step 3 Open up one of your tube graphics. Copy and paste the tube graphic as a New Layer. If the image is too large to fit within the selection, go to Image/Resize using the percent option, bicubic and resize all layers NOT checked. Move the tube graphic within the selection. Go to Selection/Invert and click the delete key. Go to Selections/Select None. If the image is not beneath the frame, go to Selections/Arrange/Move Down. Step 4 Open up your layer palette and make sure you are on the frame layer. Repeat Steps 1 - 3 but this time you will be working with the second frame section. You can use the same color for the background of your frame or select a different color. Step 5 Repeat Step 4 but this time you will be working on the third section of your frame. DO NOT MERGE THE LAYERS. That will come later - be patient :) Step 6 Open up the flower line tube graphic. Copy and paste it as a New Layer. Go to Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow. Use the same drop shadow settings from above but change the color to white. Step 7 Go to Layers/Arrange/Move Down. If the flower graphic is too long, and can be seen outside the frame, just erase those portions that are showing. Go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. Step 8 Open up the Rainbow Coffi ribbon and colorize it to a color that works with your frame and tube graphics. Paste the ribbon as a new layer and go to Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten). Step 9 Go to Image/Resize using the percent option at 85%, bicubic and resize all layers checked. Step 10 Add the copyright information and go to Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten). Step 11 Select a daisy graphic and colorize, if necessary. Copy and paste it as a new layer and resize as needed. Go to Layers/Duplicate and move the daisy over to the other side of the tag. Step 12 Open up the humming bird and copy and paste as New Layer and resize as necessary. Go to Layers/Duplicate and Image/Mirror and move the humming bird to the other side of the tag. Go to Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten). PART III - GETTING READY TO ANIMATE Step 1 At the material palette, make the top color box (stroke) black. In the bottom color box (fill), make it a color you want for the inside of your text. Step 2 Type in your one word text and repeat typing your text across the bottom of the tag. Go to Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten). Do not worry about your name text - that we will later add in animation shop. Step 3 Count how many times you repeated your one word across the bottom of the tag and multiply that amount by 2. That is how many layers needed for the animation. For each word you typed, you will have a layer and a corresponding layer. If you typed in the word Spring 4 times across the bottom of your tag, then you will need 8 layers. If you typed in the word Spring 5 times across the bottom of your tag - you will need 10 layers. Go to Layers/Duplicate and make the amount of layers you will need. Step 4 Open up the layer palette and make sure you are on the bottom layer. Left click the selection tool, set to rectangle, and draw a selection around the first word. Go to Adjust/Brightness and Contrast/Brightness/Contrast and use these settings: Brightness: plus 73 (+73) Contrast: minus 29 (-29) Step 5 Skip the layer above (which is Layer 2, the corresponding layer) and leave the text as is on this layer (not applying any changes to it). Step 6 Go to Layer 3 and draw a selection around the second word and go to Brightness and Contrast using the same settings as in Step 4. Step 7 Skip the layer above (which is Layer 4, the corresponding layer) and leave the text as is on this layer (not making any changes to it). Step 8 Again go to the Layer above (Layer 5) and draw a selection around the third word and go to Brightness and Contrast and use the same settings as in Step 4. Step 9 Skip the layer above (Layer 6, the corresponding layer) and leave the text as is on this layer. Continue doing this until all the words going across the tag have had the Brightness and Contrast applied to them on the separate layers and the corresponding layers have been left as is. Step 10 Save the tag as a PSP or PSD file. We will finish the animation and add the name text in Animation Shop. Click here to continue.
