Rule of Three

The rule of three (or threefold law) is an important tenet in Wicca, and a basic law that all Wiccans should follow.  It translates to everything we do open the world, both good and evil, will come back on us three-fold.

The rule may be stated is as follows:

"Ever mind the Rule of Three
Three times what thou givest returns to thee
This lesson well, thou must learn
Thee only gets what thou dost earn"

Special Runes:

Uruz: (U: Auroch, a wild ox.) Physical strength and speed, untamed potential. A time of great energy and health. Freedom, energy, action, courage, strength, tenacity, understanding, wisdom.

 Eihwaz: (EI: Yew tree.)  Strength, reliability, dependability, trustworthiness. Enlightenment, endurance. Defense, protection. The driving force to acquire, providing motivation and a sense of purpose. Indicates that you have set your sights on a reasonable target and can achieve your goals. An honest man who can be relied upon.

Perthro: (P: Lot cup, vagina.) Uncertain meaning, a secret matter, a mystery, hidden things and occult abilities. Initiation, knowledge of one's destiny, knowledge of future matters, determining the future or your path.

  Algiz: (Z or -R: Elk, protection.) Protection, a shield. The protective urge to shelter oneself or others. Defense, warding off of evil, shield, guardian. Connection with the gods, awakening, higher life. It can be used to channel energies appropriately. Follow your instincts. Keep hold of success or maintain a position won or earned.

 

To Cast a Protective Cirlce with Salt

 

Using Salt draw a circle on the floor adding a drop of blood where the circle connects upon itself to seal it shut. 

 

        “Watch towers of the East, West, and North. 

Bind this cirlce with your power to keep us safe from evil.”

Minor spell: “By my blood this spell is bound.  Let the salt on the ground be our barrier to the unbound.”




Some Uses for Salt.

·      Salt used as a talisman against evil (rock salt worn as an amulet)

·      The use of salt to cast "a spell over obnoxious individuals"

·      Used in a spell to summon one's love interest

·      "The ancient Teutons believed that the swift flight of birds was caused by certain powerful spirits of the air. Now salt is a foe to ghostly might, imparts weight to bodies, and impedes their motion."

·      Salt used to impede bird flight

·      "Common salt has long enjoyed a reputation as a means of procuring disenchantment." - in therapeutic magic.

·      Carrying salt as protection against spirit enemies of any kind
