1135AD TO 1154AD
SON; EUSTACE OF BOULOGNE.


1136AD =Geoffrey of Monmouth writes his history of England.

1137AD =Eleanor of Aquataine married Louis VI son Louis at
Bordeaux either July 24th or Aug. 1st. Aug.8th they were crowned
count and countess of Poitou. In Aug. Lois VI died. She became
Queen of France this year, wife of Lois VII.

1139AD =On the death of Stephen FitzOdo, his son William leGros
obtained possession of his Estates. He founded Thornton Monastery,
in Lincolnshire.

1140AD =The servants of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem
became a "military order of monks, the first body of men united
by religious vows, who wielded the Temporal sword against the
enemies of the faith.

1140AD =Stephan kept his court in the Tower of London.

1144AD =Knights Templars; Possible identity of one of the effigies
in the round temple in London is of Geoffry de-Magnaville, Earl
of Essex(right arm on his breast and large sword at his right;- he
is not mentioned by Weever;

1144AD =The banner of the crusaders was changed during this reign
for the red cross.
==="And on his brest a bloodie crosse he bore,
===The deare remembrance of his dying Lord."

1146AD =Eleanor of Aquataine gave birth to Marie (ll45)?

1147AD =Eleanor and Lois VII depart on Crusade on June 11th
from Metz.

1148AD =Eleanor and Lois VII were in Attalia in Feb. then by
ship to Antioch on March 19th where Eleanors’ uncle Raymond was
ruler. They were in Acre on June 24th, 1148AD.

1149AD =Eleanor in Palermo after a two month voyage from palastine,
not long after Easter. She was pregnant.

1149AD =They returned to Paris.

1150AD =Alice was born to Eleanor in Jan.

1151AD =Geoffrey Plantagenet died. His son Henry seized Maine and
Anjou for himself.

1152AD =March 21st Louis VII divorced Eleanor.

1152AD =MAY 18TH, Eleanor of Aquataine offered her hand to Henry,
Lord of Normandy, Anjou, Maine, and Touraine. One of the mightiest
Lords in all of France. She had been divorced from Louis, lost her
two girls to him but had recieved back the Aquataine. On May 18th
they were wed. Henry was now Duke of Aquataine as well. Since she
did not ask Louis permission Louis summoned Henry to Court to
answer for his act. The 19 year old Henry refused to comply. Among
the men urging Henry to comply were his brother Geoffry, Count
Robert of Perche,Henry of Champagne, and Eustace of Boulogne,
(King Stephen of Englands son.) Fighting broke out along the
frontier of Normandy but K.Louis and his allies were no match
for Henry.

1153Ad =JAN. Henry crossed over to England, where he made his
way to Wallingford, where men supported his claim to the
English throne.

1153AD =Feb. Eleanor gave birth to William, future Count of Poitou.

1153AD =Summer; Eustace, Eldest son and heir of Stephen died,
whereupon Stephen and Henry agreed to the Treaty of Winchester.
Stephen acknowledged Henry his successor.

1154AD =Oct. Stephen died.
