Three little toads set out one day
To build a raft and sail away.
Setting out from the river bank,
Their raft it floated, then quickly sank.
That was no good The first one cried,
On that flimsy craft we almost died.
Thinking the matter over again,
They decided to go by airoplane.
Climbing up to the top of some trees,
And hitching themselves to ten thousand fleas,
They waved goodby to friends all around;
Then fell like a shot...straight to the ground.
Toad number two stood shaking his head.
We made a grave mistake. he said.
There must be a better way to go.
Just then a snail came by real slow.
Why, climb upon my back, said he,
That way you’ll travel as safe as can be.
So climbing up on the back of a snail,
Three little toads again took the trail.
They’re traveling safe, they’re traveling slow.
But let’s face it folks, it’s the best way to go.
