El Nino is
a Spanish word that means boy child. El Nino is also called Christ
Child. El Nino occurs in the Christmas time, so that's where El Nino
got his name. It makes the temperature of the ocean's surface rise. El
Nino usually happens along the coast of Peru and the equator. EL Nino
can last for many months, and it occurs every 4-12 years. El Nino makes
usual weather become offcourse. The weather will change to something
that is very unusual for the normal weather patterns in that area. El
Nino doesn't really affect Japan that much. El Nino does however cause
more snow to fall in Nagano which caused problems for the Winter
Olympics.
