"Conversation with the Guardian Angel is also sometimes called Knowledge and Conversation with the Holy Guardian Angel or simply the Inner Dialogue. This 'inner dialogue' is not the incessant chatter of the thoughts (which indeed need to be turned off for true inner guidance to be heard), but rather the dialogue between the centred personality and the focus of the soul. This is represented by a symbol such as a dove, light, an angel, a radiant, wise, old person and so on. The 'Guardian Angel' is such a symbol. The angel may be described as a 'link with the spiritual realms' or ' the transmitter of the next step'. The Guardian Angel resides in Tiphareth and conversation with this angel is the primary work of this sphere. In the next section you will find more about the angel and a way of contacting him/her (the angel may be either - or both - sexes).
The Work of contacting and conversing with your Guardian Angel is vital to your progress. Aleister Crowley said it was a matter upmost and primary importance to the individual to have this conversation and that nothing else compares with it in importance. Gurdjieff described the same process as 'catching a soul' and also gave it primary importance. All religions, except those based primarily on faith, believe this contact to be vital. It is a way of forging a link between the temporal and the eternal.
When you perform the exercise, you may ask how you can be sure that what you contact is your Guardian Angel. It could be another being, masquerading (so to speak) as this source of 'divine wisdom'. Whatever this other entity might be, a dark demon, your own superconcious or a 'topdog' sub-personality - the following points can help you check the validity of your contact. Remember that your sense of what is right or wrong for you is of primary importance. Only you can decide whether a message is valid.
Checks on contact: All messages from the Guardian Angel are ultimately positive rather than negative towards the self. They are never judgemental or a 'put-down' (although they can be serious and severe - but more the attitude of a kind, loving father or mother than of a pompous or uncaring authoritarian figure). Use Netzach and Malkuth. Does it feel right? Do you sense it is real contact with your real Angel? Use Hod and Malkuth. The virtue of Malkuth is discrimination (in a sensory sense) and the mind is the best 'weapon' for discriminating. Is there non-verbal re-inforcement? Does the scene look right? Do you sense the rightness of the symbols involved? Is the expression of your Angel right? All such messages (when understood - they may not be clear immediately) are expanding and extending to the personality. |

The three key words involved in checking the validity of a message from your Angel are discrimination (Malkuth), interpretation (Hod) and sense of rightness (Netzach).
It is also worth remembering that the Angel might tell you it's name. If you hear your Angel's name, never share it with anyone else - it is the prime secret of your life and a word of the greatest power. This is because by knowing your Angel's name you can then summon him/her at will.
We all have a source of wisdom and understanding that knows who we are, where we have been and where we are going. It is in tune with our unfolding purpose or True Will and clearly senses the next steps to be taken in order to pursue that aim. As we contact it we can better recognize the difficulties we are having in our growth and with its help, we can guide our awareness and will towards the resolution of these difficulties. Rightly used it can help us direct our energies towards achieving integration in our personality and towards unifying the personality, soul and spirit into one living reality."
