First, lay out the chart on a clear area and follow a relaxtion ritual. Then, begin to study the chart. A quick glimpse of the chart and the primal notion along with this feeling is of great importance. It is also best, if you are reading a chart of someone you are without bias towards, otherwise the intuition tends to be tainted by lower emotional feelings. The art of delineating a chart is heavily reliant upon what you feel after a close study upon the rational calculations of the chart. Astrology uses a balance of both the left and right brain. The rational and intuitive faculties must be working together when a translation is given to the person of concern. And then, only after years of tedious effort to the study of astrology should one begin to delineate the charts of others on a psychological level. The karmic repurcussions let alone the amount of difficulty involved are enough for the wise magician to choose to send the person to a professional astrologer. The chart most likely to be delineated is for your own personal knowledge. |

After gazing at the flower or mandala of what the aspects form in the middle of the wheel, much like scrying into a mirror and the effect should be one of attunement with the chart and an opening of the intuitive mind, then look at the position and sign of the ascendant. After observing the ascendant and referring to it in your book of choice (as all parts of the chart should be referred to, until a certain knowledge of astrology is formed for your intuition to pull from), then continuing through the houses and observing the planets within them moving counterclockwise along the wheel. All the while, write these interpretations down on a specific notebook reserved for delineation. Saying out loud what you write will further help your mind remember and process these numerous calculations and interpretations. Then, the aspects of the planets should be carefully studied, these will give life to the planets in the chart. Whether the aspects are malefic or benefic will determine how the planets are presented throughout the houses. |

Once you have these three main items written down accordingly, then the overall intuitive mind is to be exposed. On another sheet of paper in your notebook, write down the number of each house and the sign(s) that occupies that house, then write a paragraph for what you feel is your concerns, influences, and motivations of each house. There should be twelve paragraphs at first, one for each house and the energies held within them. This is the beginning of your delineation and as you study the chart with time you should refer to this notebook and add more to your paragraph about each house. Sometimes it will be necessary to refer to other houses when speaking of the house at hand. This is quite well and reccomended, for the chart is a whole and the houses are mere curtains of the spheres of life. |

The overall purpose of this procedure is for the magician to gain a personal self-psychological analysis of himself and an inward understanding of how the cosmos reflects his persona. This is of upmost importance for the magician. For his steady progression and the ability to learn about and overcome his limitations is the key to magickal acquirement. |

4. scry into the mandala (the diagram the aspects make within the wheel) |

5. observe and copy down the ascendant |
6. follow the preceding houses and the signs that occupy them while moving counterclockwise around the wheel |
7. observe the planets in their houses |
8. observe the aspects and how they relate with each other |
9. write down the number of each house while intuitively writing down a paragraph for each of your impressions of how each house functions, using your knowledge of the planets, houses, signs and aspects, etc. as well as your book of choice beside your own writings |
10. write a paragraph of the overall impression of the chart and continue this process periodically to better "know thyself" or about the one being interpreted |
